Seating

Turkish Airlines uses both narrow and wide-body, Airbus and Boeing aircraft, with up to four classes of service. As not all classes are available on all plane types, trans-Atlantic service will generally offer the following three.
Economy Class
Economy class seats offer a pitch of between 31 – 32 inches and feature a forward moving seat pan for an extra recline of up to 7.5 inches. Each seat is fitted with a USB port, an Ethernet jack as well as a general power receptacle and most offer a seat back entertainment unit. Foot rests and flush headrests that extend up to five inches provide additional comfort.
Comfort Class (Premium Economy)
With a generous seat pitch of 46 inches and a width of almost 20, comfort class seats recline almost 9 inches, with adjustable leg and head rests. On new B777-300 aircraft, seats are configured 2 – 3 – 2 and each seat comes equipped with a personal reading light, 10.6 inch digital, seat-back monitors and centre console connections and power receptacles for personal media use. Meal tables are stored in the armrests and provide a spacious work surface or a tablet stand for reading.
Business Class
Business class seats feature an ottoman, creating a 75 inch long sleeping quarter when fully reclined. Each seat is equipped with a reading light and power source for personal media and the main seat control for massage and other features is located in the centre console. A large, moveable table is also stored in the centre console creating workspace if required. For added privacy, touch-button technology transforms your seat’s armrest into a screen.

In-flight Options

Entertainment
On most long-haul flights, personal seat back entertainment is provided by The Planet digital and is available in all classes of service. Whether by touch screen or via personal remote, passengers can choose from the latest in Hollywood releases, classic, comedy, drama, action and family films as well as television series and documentaries. Also available are news channels, sports, weather and cartoons for kids. Audio entertainment encompasses everything from full CD albums in all genres to a variety of traditional Turkish folk music to complete audio books. If you prefer, connect your own laptop or tablet to watch your own device or use the in-flight connectivity to send and receive texts and email.
Meals
Turkish Airlines provides complimentary meal and beverage service on all routes and in all classes of service. Dishes highlight both authentic Turkish flavours as well as popular world cuisine. In addition, comfort and business class passengers receive a special welcome drink and restaurant-quality entrees are served in sparkling, white porcelain. Special meal requests to accommodate dietary or religious needs can be made either at time of booking or up to 72 hours prior to departure.

Checking-in

Passengers have the option to check-in online or in person at the airport on their day of travel. Online check-in is available up to 24 hours prior to departure where guests can select their seat and print their own boarding pass. Turkish Airlines operates an "online check-in desk" at the airport to collect checked baggage. Please allow standard check-in times (two to three hours prior to departure) if waiting to check-in at the airport.

Checked Baggage

For direct service to and from North America, Turkish Airlines offers a free baggage allowance of 2 pieces in all classes with a maximum weight per piece of 23kg in economy and comfort class and 32kg in business class. No one bag can be larger than 158cms (combined, length + width + height), in any class. Infants under two years of age are allowed one checked item as well as a collapsible stroller. Domestic flights restrict checked baggage to a maximum weight of 30kg for business class passengers, 20kg for economy and 15kg for guests travelling on promotional or discounted fares. Infants in all classes of domestic travel are allowed up to 10kgs. Sports equipment is generally carried free of charge if included as part of the piece concept and within the weight and size guidelines of the above policy.

Carry-on Baggage

Cabin baggage is restricted to 2 pieces in business class and a single item in all other classes. In addition to the above, travellers are permitted to carry-on a coat, a laptop, a handbag or briefcase, a small recorder or camera and an infant bag.

Fleet

With a modern fleet of over 220 airplanes that have an average age of just over 5 years, Turkish Airlines becomes one of the youngest in the sky. Their solely Airbus and Boeing made aircrafts feature the wide-body A340 and the B777 on its long-haul routes, offering the latest in features and design.

Alliances, Clubs and Lounges

Turkish Airlines has been a Star Alliance member since 2008 and its codeshare partner airlines include Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Lufthansa, South African Airways and United Airlines, to name a few. Miles&Smiles is the name of Turkish Airlines’ frequent flyer program where travellers are rewarded for flying with TK and its partners through award tickets, seating class upgrades, discounts on car rentals and other benefits. Miles&Smiles Elite and Elite Plus, Star Alliance Gold and Turkish Airlines business class travellers can take advantage of the exclusive CIP Lounge in Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport (available in both the domestic and international terminal).

The Last Word

After recently upgrading its fleet, Turkish Airlines was voted Europe’s Best Airline twice by Skytrax as well as winning World’s Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seat in 2011 and 2012. With these accolades it is easy to see why the company slogan is simply, "Globally Yours."
