On the Road with Duane Perera

Friday, July 15th, 2011

One year ago, Edmonton boy Duane gave up everything to travel around the world and do some of the things that he's always wanted to do. Since Coca Cola is so easy to find anywhere in the world, he thought it would be a fun idea to drink a Coca Cola in each country that he visited and made it into a video montage. I love this piece and am slightly (ok insanely) jealous of all the amazing things he was able to experience around the world. If this doesn't inspire you to see the world, I don't know what will:

On the Road with Scott Stratten

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Meet Scott Stratten:  Author, Speaker, and awesome world traveller. His first book, UnMarketing: Stop Marketing. Start Engaging, became a national best-seller before it was released in 2010. He recently published his second book, The Business of Awesome (and Unawesome) which covers key business concepts related to marketing, branding, public relations, social media, human resources and customer service. It’s about the authentic touch, and the ability to connect technology with engagement to the level of Awesome. When he's not on a book tour, his speaking gigs take him to cities all over the world.  We asked him how he pulls it off, and were pleased to discover that our very own Mary Jarvis from our Ancaster store in Ontario has become his 'travel savior'. "She books everything for me. Don't know what I'd do without her. Before knowing her, I booked everything online. I can't tell you how valuable it is having an actual person you trust take care of your travel." - Scott
