British Invasion with Flight Centre Guest Blogger Karim Kanji
October 5th, 2009 by Karim Kanji
Karim Kanji is our newest guest blogger on the Flight Centre Travel Blog. A quick bit of history – we connected with Karim on Twitter, had some great conversations, helped Karim book his vacation to the UK, and next thing we knew Karim was offering to blog about his holidays; wow, we were honoured! So, Karim is going to jump in with quick bits from his travels.
Hello FC’ers!
My name is Karim Kanji and I am an avid blogger. You can find me on Twitter and Facebook as well as at my online “home” at INSPIRation by Karim. This, however, is my first visit to the Flight Centre blog.
I want to tell you how I got here.
I believe that social media, among other things, is a great way to tell companies what we want. So, not too long ago I asked for help in booking a flight for me and my young family to England. I must be honest in telling you that I wanted to give my business to another company. However, Flight Centre actually wanted my business. They were the ONLY company to reply back and ask for my business. I waited for the other “guys” but they never bothered.
In the end, I was put in touch with Mariel Clayton who was very nice, professional and friendly.
This Sunday we will take our seats and cross the Atlantic and journey to the country I was born in: England. Keep your eyes here as I share with you a few highlights from our first trans-oceanic trip as a family.

London, England is highlighted on the Flight Centre travel map.
What’s next on Karim’s travels? You will have to check @flight_centre out on Twitter or drop by later in the week to find out.
