What would a trip like this cost per person? My 20 year old son and I are wanting to take a trip just like this.

Hi James,

Thank you for your comment on my blog. I would not really consider On the Go tour a budget tour, but there will be a mix of people traveling from 19 to 50+.

There is an overnight train from Cairo to Aswan that I suggest you upgrade to the sleeper cabin, it's worth the extra. There is also a bus ride from Luxor to Dahab, it's not a bad bus ride, but make sure you bring a light blanket it does get cold. The other upgrade I would strongly recommend would be the 5* cruise instead of the felucca, as you would be really roughing it there.

The hotels used on the tour are all Oasis properties that are very clean, and are rated as a 4*. The hotels also are also in great locations that if you wanted to do things on your own your could. There is free time, but after a day of walking through the monuments, in that hot heat, you will probably just want to sit in the pool and relax.

If you would like more information please feel free to contact me at the Bonnie Doon Location. I'd be more than happy to talk to you about my trip, and what you should expect on yours.

Hope to hear from you soon,

Yolande

My wife and I are aiming for a trip to Egypt in April and are intrigued by On The Go's King Ramses Tour (13 days, which includes everything you experienced in November).
My question is what kind of travel does On the Go provide?
By this I mean we are both professionals in our late 40s and are beyond budget trips. While we want to get up close and personal to the culture we also don't want to rough it. Of what standard are the hotels (names?) and restaurants and how much free time is there is to explore (or is it generally not recommended)?
If you feel it's a little down market, do have other suggestions?
