Flight Centre’s Alicia Bourne travels to Sandals Dunn’s River Villaggio in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and has ‘an amazing time’! In this blog post Alicia writes about her incredible vacation adventure including the many great restaurants and cuisine, fun water sports like snorkeling and kayaking and her fantastic ocean view room with 24 hours concierge service. I just got back from staying at Sandals Dunn’s River Villaggio in Jamaica and had an amazing time!

After a long hour and a half bus ride we arrived at Sandals Dunn’s River Villaggio and were greeted by a number of warm, welcoming people with a cocktail and wet cloth. Once we were checked in, we were brought to our concierge room in the Genoa block where we had our own balcony with an ocean view, a marble bathroom, a Jacuzzi tub and a mini bar…which is stocked daily.

With the concierge category we had access to 24 hour room service, which we took advantage of many times. We could order salad, steak, lamb, pasta, desserts, breakfast…anything we wanted…and they would set it up right on our balcony.

Our time there was spent reading, snorkeling, playing on the property’s pitch and putt, swimming, kayaking, and of course eating…lots of eating. The food was incredible and there was always something different to try with a variety of restaurants, offering options from pizza to the steak and lobster at the resort, as well as at the neighbouring Sandals Grande Ocho Rios.

The atmosphere is relaxed, yet classy with an Italian theme, and the staff were great! There was always a lounge chair available by the pool or on the beach and a swim up bar that was never too busy. If you get a chance to visit, definitely ask for a ‘Jamaican smile’…the best drink ever!

What a great experience we had! We were sad to go, but will definitely be back soon!
