Hands Up Baby Hands Up!!!

Andrea Freed vacationed at Club Med Punta Cana and returns with another Flight Centre guest blog post.
I returned from Club Med Punta Cana about 5 days ago and I am left dreaming of, and missing, the amazing beaches and palm trees. Oh, and I find myself using gallons of moisturizer in an attempt to keep this Punta Cana tan.
Beach versus Pool
I am fortunate enough to travel a lot and any beach I’m on is always my best friend at that moment. That said, I can honestly tell you that I have never seen that many palm trees on one beach, ever! The sand is awesome and the white granules and crystal clear water combine to make the most amazing blue and green combo. It was super hot but there was a great breeze which really cooled you down on the beach. On the other hand, the pool had great beach chairs and there were plenty of spots for both sun and shade seekers. Shockingly, I opted to sit half in the sun and half in the shade so as not to get burned. Did I mention it was hot, hot, hot?
Speaking of the pools, if you are a pool person then this resort will not disappoint. It is massive with plenty of super comfy lounge chairs and is just steps away from the main bar. I could have lived there; couches, pillows, and awesome bartenders making mojitos for me.
If you’ve ever been to a Club Med then you know what I am talking about, but if not let me try to explain. The resort has (rough guess) close to 50 songs from all over the world. The songs are in languages from all over the world and make up little dances which are kind of like line dances but without the country music, if that makes any sense. Anyway, they do these dances poolside a few times a day in the afternoon and evening and we were encouraged to participate. You can just watch, or hide, but I bet you will at least find yourself tapping your foot to the beats. The songs are very catchy and a lot of fun to watch.
In summary Club Med has something for everyone! You can chill all day poolside while doing nothing but read some cheesy novels. Perhaps you would rather sit back and relax on the beach to the tunes on your iPod. Or maybe you are more the adventurous type and would prefer to partake in the various activities available; sailing, snorkeling, trapeze, windsurfing, tennis and the list goes on.
Punta Cana is highlighted on the Flight Centre map.
