Important Mexicana Airlines Information Regarding Suspended Operations

Mexicana Airlines has suspended its operations indefinitely.

We know that you will have a number of questions about your travel arrangements and how you will be impacted by this event.

We are committed to assisting you in any means possible.

A. If it is necessary and for your personal reassurance that you travel on the intended dates initially booked with Mexicana, we will facilitate your request to book new flights with an alternative carrier at your own cost.
B. At your written request, we will endeavour to assist you to recoup any lost monies for services not rendered by applying directly with Mexicana for a refund. Our agents will complete special documentation on your behalf to assist in the most expedited recovery of the monies paid to Mexicana.

At Flight Centre, our primary concern is for our customers and we want to offer you as much personal assistance in dealing with any difficulties that arise as a result of Mexicana’s decision to cease flying. We appreciate that this may be a difficult time.

    I just wanted to say how dissapointing this is to myself and husband. I just returned from L.A. on wednesday and heard about this on the news. My husband then called flight centre to ask them about it and we were told our flight had not been cancelled, and they were keeping an eye on things. It would have been nice of flight centre to have emailed us to let us know that there were issues with this company ahead of time, afterall that is why we book through a travel agent for service.
    Now we are out of pocket $1750.00 and have to forfeit our 5 star accommodation.

    I have booked with my wife to go to Central and South America in December. All our flights from LA are with Mexicana, costing us all up close to $8,000 from Aus. Are we meant to “wait and see” what happens? we really wouldn't be able to fork out the thousands that it would cost to rebook with other carriers. This is really frustrating.

    que es lo que pasara para los clientes que habiamos comprado boletos antes de las suspension, pero no pudimos viajar y pedimos dejaran nuestros boletos abiertos para viajar antes de que se venciera un ano a partir de a fecha de compra. Y ahora necesitamos viajar y no hay vuelos

    Hi Debbie….I can relate to your experience….I booked a holiday last year and the very next day the company was CLOSED….Fortunately I had paid with my credit card and was promptly re-imbursed once I called them and explained the situation…perhaps you would fall under this as well….I wish you luck …Julie

    I cant personally relate, but, I can tell you that after looking at these, i will NEVER book through flight center. I WAS lokking into using them to our flight to freeport. I DO appreciate knowing this can happen ahead of time. WHat a LOT of money and convolusion!!!! Gawd, whatta holiday that would be!!!!

    Thanks for this info, it really helped me learn what NOT to do, more so than WHAT to do..

    Is this kind of thing really legal these days? Is there no BBB to aid with this?? I can't believe in this day and age of technology and basic paranoia about ANYTHING, that anyone or company could get away withthis!! Is there no class action available to you??

    Hey Jacqui, there certainly is a lot of choice out there and whomever you deal with I hope you are well taken care of. Please know that in a situation like this whether you dealt with the airline directly or another agency you would find yourself in the exact situation. Please note that I am in no way making light of the situation people find themselves right now due to these circumstances.
