Adventure tourism is one of the fastest growing trends in the travel industry. Here with some tips on how to prepare before you go is Flight Centre's Allison Wallace.
Make sure if you're going to Asia, South America or Africa that you visit a travel health clinic at least a month in advance to ensure that all vaccinations can be done in time. As of October first, South Africa now requires a yellow fever certificate for anyone entering from a country or region infected by yellow fever. If you don't have that certificate, you won't be allowed in. Your adventure trip could include on of South Africa's most popular activities - like cage shark diving in shark alley. You float inside a cage as sharks swim around you. Book as much of your adventure as you can before leaving Canada to ensure you stay within your budget and don't miss out on activities that will likely sell out. And always have medical insurance. Adventure travel by nature is going to be more active than you're your typical holiday so make sure you're covered - just in case. Have a great trip.
