Delta Airlines is an American carrier based out of Atlanta, Georgia, and the largest in the world in terms of passenger traffic, destinations offered and fleet size. However, Delta Airlines will become the second largest carrier once the merger of United and Continental is complete.

Delta has nearly 250 destinations in its global network spanning six continents, with its largest hub in Atlanta running close to 1,000 departures on a daily basis. Delta currently operates Canadian flights and connections out of Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec.

There are four travel classes that passengers can choose from when they book flights from Canada. The carriers international business class, BusinessElite, is an option for round the world flights on select Boeing aircraft. Customers in this class can enjoy a comfortable, 20-inch-wide seat with a built-in massager, free food and beverage, an in-flight entertainment system and folding work table. Most recently, Delta added a flat-bed to several of its posh business class flights.

Domestic First Class is an option on select Airbus, Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft. Passengers can enjoy a roomy 20.75-inch-wide seat, and free meals and drinks.

Passengers in International Economy Class have up to 18 inches of seating width and adjustable lumbar support on Boeing and Airbus jets. Economy flights that are a minimum of 12 hours long have Weber slimline seating, which are comfortable recliners designed to provide the ultimate comfort for lengthy travels.

Domestic Economy Class has the smallest seat width at 17 to 17.5 inches. Delta offers passengers in this cabin free drinks and snacks, with food and alcohol available for purchase on flights further than 1,500 miles.

For frequent fliers on Delta Airlines, the carrier offers its SkyMiles loyalty program, which was introduced in 1981. Delta has partnerships with Alaska, American Eagle, Avianca, China, China Eastern, Gol Transportes, Jet Airways, Kingfisher, Hawaiian, Malaysia, Royal Air Maroc and V Australia airlines, giving SkyMiles members the opportunity to use their points with any of these international carriers to buy airline tickets. Accumulated frequent flier miles expire after 24 months of travel inactivity.

Luxurious Sky Clubs are lounges located in Delta Airlines terminals, accessible to those with memberships, which range from one day to three years. Most of the lounges offer great amenities like free beverages, snacks, reading material and T-Mobile Internet access. Some Sky Clubs even include putting greens in honor of its PGA Tour sponsorship.
