
LAN Airlines is a flight provider based out of Santiago, Chile, and is the countrys flag carrier. It s a member of the Oneworld alliance, and also one of the largest airlines in Latin America.
The Chilean airline currently serves close to 50 destinations using its 97-aircraft fleet of Airbus and Boeing jets. Those who purchase first class airfares or business class airfares will be grouped into the same cabin, as the airline eliminated the distinction between the two in 2006 and merged them into a Premium Business class. In this cabin, customers can enjoy ample space with seats that fold out to 73-inch flatbeds, with 74 inches between passengers. There is plenty of on-board entertainment, with personal television screens offering audio and video on-demand. Travelers have a choice of 30 films, 52 television channels, 350 music albums and 14 games.
As for meals, passengers are sure to be impressed by the special menus designed by seasoned chefs, which incorporate fresh South American ingredients. There is also an extensive wine list edited by Hector Vergara, Latin Americas only Master Sommelier.
Premium Business class flights not only offer comforting amenities, but also connections to destinations all over the world, including the U.S., Mexico, Papeete and Easter Island.
Premium Economy class customers also enjoy a bit of VIP treatment, as the cabin is quite small and exclusive to only 12 passengers. The seatback television screens offer more than 30 films and 50 television series to entertain travelers on long flights, as well as a selection of magazines and newspapers.
In standard economy cabins, passengers have 32 inches of space between seats, which are equipped with an 8.9-inch high definition personal entertainment screen. Travelers can pass the hours of their flight with 47 films, 123 television channels, 750 CDs and 20 games to choose from.
LAN´s frequent flyer program, LANPASS, consists of more than two million members from Chile, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and the United States. Members are able to earn and redeem points with LAN, its Oneworld alliance partners and other affiliated airlines. There are four levels of LANPASS - Basic, Premium (Oneworld Ruby), Premium Silver (Oneworld Sapphire) and Commodore (Oneworld Emerald).
