Traditional Making Merits - Thai belief is based on the Buddhist doctrine. The concept is as stated in a Thai proverb “if you do well you will receive well; if you do evil you will receive evil”. It means the result of Karma which represents the evaluation of all life events, that is, you will receive the outcome of what you have already initiated. A common rule in making merit is to prepare one’s mind and thoughts. The mind has to be purified and ready. Gaining merit, however, must not bring any trouble or worry to one or others. This tradition means putting food into the monks’ bowl. Monks receive alms from people who believe they are gaining merit by giving. Every morning around 6.00 am - 8.00 am, monks silently pacing the streets or river to receive offerings. It is understood that this is an opportunity for people to gain merit. 7 Days service available from 07.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.

Mr. Apichart Sri-aroon, Ratilanna Riverside Spa Resorts' Architect, was inspired for the architectural design by flashing back 200 years, when the “Wat Gate” community was a prosperous trade centre with foreigners who traveled along Ping River by ancient Lanna scorpion vessel boat. This became the inspiration of the river story to be chosen as the idea for the architectural design.

This luxury boutique resort captures the essence of the descendant’s Lanna ancestry that subtly appears in its architecture and interior décor. A luxury boutique resort nestled serenely along the bank of the Mae Ping River and center of the Lanna historical city Chiang Mai, only minutes away from the Chiang Mai Airport and the city’s popular Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. All 75 luxurious guestrooms feature private balconies, widescreen plasma televisions, home theatre, broadband internet and bathrooms with built - in LCD TVs and rain shower. RatiLanna the 5 star luxury resort offers the highest standard of services and tasteful facilities.

Mr. Yuthanan Mohprasit, the resorts' interior designer, chose to portray the life of Ping River’s civilization by combining the unique arts of Lanna minorities in the interior design. The extensive use of teak throughout the resort is a reminder that the river used to convey teak logs by the British Borneo Company in the past. Interior design was made from local wisdom by the skilful Ten Group of Artisans particularly in the lobby which is modeled after the Northern Royal Palace. A large sterling silver bowl takes pride of place in the middle of the riverside pavilion and is known as “Buranakata” and made from Baht 12,500 weight of sterling silver.
