Traditional Making Merits - Thai belief is based on the Buddhist doctrine. The concept is as stated in a Thai proverb “if you do well you will receive well; if you do evil you will receive evil”. It means the result of Karma which represents the evaluation of all life events, that is, you will receive the outcome of what you have already initiated. A common rule in making merit is to prepare one’s mind and thoughts. The mind has to be purified and ready. Gaining merit, however, must not bring any trouble or worry to one or others. This tradition means putting food into the monks’ bowl. Monks receive alms from people who believe they are gaining merit by giving. Every morning around 6.00 am - 8.00 am, monks silently pacing the streets or river to receive offerings. It is understood that this is an opportunity for people to gain merit. 7 Days service available from 07.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.

Learn Thai Cooking Class - If you're one of the millions of budding cooks around the world who would like to make your own Thai food, then a cooking class is for you. Learn directly from professional Thai cooks who will teach you about the flavors, ingredients and techniques in cooking Thai food. You'll get to taste the food as you go. And finally, at the end of your class, you'll get an apron and certificate to take home with you. Cooking class services and amenities include:

Go Heritage - Wiang Kum Kam (WKK) was established by King Meng Rai, the King of Yo Nok, as the first Lanna capital. WKK had not lasted for long because severe flooding at the time caused the city to sink. This made WKK an underground city before the ancient Lanna Kingdom was destroyed. The preservation of the ancient city made Wiang Kum Kam into an archeological research center which formed the basis for the coming decades to study the pure Lanna culture and arts. 

After the restoration of the Kam Tom Temple at Chang Kum Temple by Sillapkorn (Art Department) the history of the “Ledgend City” and the important ancient remains came to life. WKK is surrounded by paddy fields and local villages where the gentle peaceful scenery of the countryside viewed from the back of a carriage is a true journey through the Lanna way of life.
