Days 1-2 Oslo
Travel to Norway and discover the irresistible charm and eccentricity of Oslo. If arriving early, head to the National Gallery of Art to glimpse Edvard Munch's famous painting, The Scream, or discover a Viking past at one of Oslo's many museums. Visit nearby Holmenkollen for a short hike on the plateau and wander through the Ski Museum, which is housed inside the monumental Holmenkollen ski jump and explores over 4,000 years of ski history!

Days 3-4 Bergen
Venture by train across the stunning countryside of the Fjell region. Arrive in Bergen, a quirky city with a host of things to see ranging from churches and museums to galleries and brightly coloured houses.

Days 5-6 Norwegian Fjords
Be captivated by the sight of crisp mountain peaks reflected in the glassy waters of Sognefjord on a boat trip. Pass through Naeroyfjord, so named for the Norse god of seafarers and the sea. Fishing enthusiasts will love the opportunity to throw a line in, sit back and soak up the serenity.

Days 7-8 Lillehammer
Make tracks to the alpine playground of Lillehammer and wander through the Trollhaugen Open Air Museum. Perhaps hear tales of heroic feats at the Norwegian Olympic Museum or conquer misty mountains on a hike.

Days 9-11 Stockholm
Absorb the timeless beauty of Stockholm, the 'Venice of the North, on an orientation walk and check out the Vasa Museum. Perhaps sample galleries or nightclubs in trendy Sodermalm, head to the Skansen Open Air Museum or join a day trip to Uppsala.

Days 12-13 Aland Islands/Overnight Ferry
Take time out aboard a ferry to the Aland Islands, and embark on a cycling sojourn through this pristine maritime area. Then, why not indulge in some steamy bliss at a day sauna before boarding an overnight ferry to Finland.

Days 14-15 Helsinki
After an overnight ferry ride, arrive in Finland's stylish capital, Helsinki. While here, perhaps take in the National Theatre, the outdoor Museum Seurasaari or check out the ancient Suomenlinna Sea Fortress.

Days 16-17 Tallinn
Catch a ferry across the Gulf of Finland to Tallinn, an exciting city, which delights visitors with its steep red roofs, spires, pastel-coloured buildings and new restaurants and bars. See the impressive Kadriorg Palace, explore the Old Town or get active on a bike tour.

Days 18-19 Riga
Discover a city on the shores of the Daugava River, renowned for its welcoming locals. Visit the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum before hunting down a bargain in Riga's Central Market.

Days 20-21 Curonian Spit
Travel to the former Prussian capital of Klaipeda. Explore the Curonian Spit National Park - a playground for outdoor enthusiasts.

Days 22-23 Vilnius
Experience the cosmopolitan charm of Vilnius. Wander through Cathedral Square and see the imposing Gediminas Tower on a city walk. Head out to Trakai to admire 14th-century castles and learn about the Karaim people.

Days 24-25 Aukstaitija National Park
Hike and canoe through a natural wonderland. Visit traditional medieval villages and swim in the lake.

Days 26-27 Warsaw
Travel to Poland and visit Warsaw, a city rebuilt from rubble after World War II. Take a walk through the Old Town, check out the Uprising Museum and perhaps experience the city's rich culture at the Royal Castle or catch a puppet show.

Days 28-29 Berlin
Cross the border into Germany. Uncover the tumultuous history of the creative and cosmopolitan 'Millennium City' before it's time to bid Europe farewell.
