Welcome to Cairo! You are met on arrival at Cairo Airport and transferred to your hotel. Spend time exploring the city or simply relax and soak up the atmosphere.
Day 3-4 CAIRO SIGHTSEEING
Enjoy an expert guided tour of the Egyptian Museum, home of King Tutankhamun’s priceless treasure, discovered by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings in 1922. See one of the seven wonders of the ancient world − the Great Pyramids at Giza, including the Pyramid of Cheops. Admire the inscrutable Sphinx casting its enigmatic gaze across the desert.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4-5 CAIRO - ASWAN - NILE CRUISE (3 NIGHTS)
After your flight to Aswan, visit the impressive High Dam. Travel by motorboat to the Temple of Isis, rising from the waters of the Nile on the Island of Philae. Board your luxury Nile cruise ship in time for lunch, then enjoy a memorable ride in a felucca to see the Botanical Gardens. See the Aga Khan Mausoleum, one of the grandest sights in Lower Egypt.(Buffet Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 5-6 NILE CRUISE: KOM OMBO - EDFU
Take an optional air excursion to the Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel, where four giant statues of the great pharaoh stand guard. Otherwise enjoy a relaxing morning. This afternoon visit the Temple of Kom-Ombo, dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god. This evening, dress up in traditional Egyptian galabeas for a fun-filled Egyptian dinner and cultural experience.(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 6-7 NILE CRUISE: EDFU - LUXOR
Discover Egypt’s best-preserved cult temple at Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god, Horus. See the ancient Great Temple at Luxor, which dominates the town.(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 7-8 DISEMBARK - LUXOR - CAIRO
Explore the extraordinary Valley of the Kings, where the New Kingdom pharaohs were buried in tombs built into the hillsides. Visit Deir el-Bahri, a breathtaking complex of mortuary temples and tombs. Admire Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple. Marvel at the Colossi of Memnon on the West Bank and the gigantic Karnak Temple Complex. Later fly back to Cairo.(Breakfast)
Day 8-9 CAIRO - ALEXANDRIA
Visit the Coptic Monasteries at Wadi El Natrun (if open) on the way to Alexandria. Founded by Alexander the Great in 322 BC, Alexandria was one of the most famous cities in the ancient world, and the country’s capital for nearly a thousand years. It retains its status as a cultural and industrial centre, and is renowned for the beautiful seafront area known as the Corniche. Enjoy spectacular views of the Mediterranean this evening when you dine with your fellow travellers at a local restaurant.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 9-10 ALEXANDRIA SIGHTSEEING - CAIRO
Tour the white marble Roman Amphi and Pompy’s Pillar at the ancient acropolis. Visit the Kom el Shoqafa Catacomb and the National Museum. Admire the magnificent El Morsi Abu El Abbas Mosque. Later drive back to Cairo.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 10-11 CAIRO - CANADA
