Itinerary

Day 1 London to Amsterdam - 28 April 2012

An early start today as we meet at our London hostel for our drive down toward Dover where we board our ferry. On arriving in Calais we drive to Amsterdam, checking into our hostel smack bang in the middle of the city. This evening, get an introduction to this hip city on a walking tour which takes in the infamous Red Light District - why not join our optional pub crawl through this infamous area?

Day 2 Amsterdam - 29 April 2012

After breakfast, you have free time to explore the sights of Amsterdam to take in the abundant culture of this city - perhaps paying a visit to the Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum… It all depends on your own personal definition of ‘culture’! This evening is Koninginnenacht (Queen’s Night) when the carnival atmosphere starts; DJs play parties on public squares; brightly decorated boats fill canals; and live music spills onto streets from cafe patios. Day 3 Amsterdam - 30 April 2012

Today the day is yours to further explore the city. Why not do as the locals do by hiring a bike and cruising the streets, or join the thousands of revelers in the streets of the Dutch capital, celebrating their largest holiday – Koninginnedag (Queen’s Day)! Dress in orange to blend in with the crazy Dutch crowds, and party with the locals until the early hours of the morning. (B)

Day 4 Amsterdam to London - 1 May 2012

All good things must come to an end, and so must our trip. But before leaving Amsterdam we make a quick visit to a traditional Dutch farm, to see how cheese and clogs are made – and even have a chance to taste some of the delicious produce! We then head back to Calais to catch an early afternoon ferry to Dover getting us back to London this evening, where we say goodbye to our new found friends. (B)

*For those wishing to visit museums in Amsterdam it is highly recommended to book tickets online through the individual museums as Amsterdam can be very busy during bank holidays.
