Day 1 Belize City
Explore this bustling former capital city on a walking tour. In Belize City, history and culture abound with many art galleries and museums to explore. Perhaps head to the Newtown Barracks district, home to a lively cluster of restaurants and bars that are popular with the locals.
Days 2-3 San Ignacio
Head from Belize City to San Ignacio. The lush jungle surrounding San Ignacio is just waiting to be explored. Gain insights into ancient civilisations on a trip to the impressive Mayan ruins of Cahal Pech. Enjoy a range of optional activities including a day trip to a Mayan ceremonial centre, Xunantunich, or to the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve to visit waterfalls, warm swimming holes and a huge system of caves. Back in San Ignacio, sample the range of barbecue delights at one of the many street stalls.
Day 4 Tikal
Travel to Flores in Guatemala and catch a golden sunrise from the top of the majestic Tikal ruins. Then explore the towering temples and their jungle surrounds. Find a quiet spot to spy howler monkeys swinging through the canopy and be on the lookout for brightly coloured toucans and macaws. Spend a night camping under the stars and fall asleep to the sounds of the surrounding jungle.
Days 5-8 Caye Caulker
Discover a laidback Caribbean paradise on the balmy Belizean island of Caye Caulker. Whether the goal is absolute relaxation or adventurous aquatic activities, Caye Caulker has all bases covered. Head to the nearby reef to snorkel among schools of multicoloured fish or dive Caye Caulker's magnificent Blue Hole. Why not celebrate the end of this adventure with a fresh beachside lobster feast?
