Day 3-4 TOLEDO EXCURSION AND MADRID SIGHTSEEING
Marvel at the sights of Toledo, capital of Castile, with your expert Local Guide. Visit the Synagogue and the Church of Santo Tomé. In Madrid, see the Plaza España, Puerta del Sol, Cibeles Fountain and Gran Via during your expert guided sightseeing tour.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 4-5 MADRID - BURGOS - SANTANDER
Journey over the Guadarrama Mountains to Burgos. Visit El Cid’s tomb in the vast Gothic cathedral. Pass the Ebro and cross the Cantabrian Cordillera mountains to the coast, arriving later in Santander, capital of the Cantabrian region, where you dine tonight at your hotel.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 5-6 SANTANDER - BILBAO - SAN SEBASTIAN - PAMPLONA
Stop for a photograph of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, featuring an extensive collection of modern art. Pass by Guetaria, birthplace of Juan Sebastian Elcano, a Spanish explorer who completed the first circumnavigation of the world in 1519. Along the coast in San Sebastian, see the Bahia de la Concha beach during your orientation walk. Walk the ancient streets of Pamplona and learn about the Festival of St. Firminius, when bulls are allowed to run freely through the town.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 6-7 PAMPLONA - ZARAGOZA - BARCELONA (2 NIGHTS)
Return to the Ebro Valley and view the Cathedral of El Pilar and the Cathedral La Seo at Zaragoza. Rising gently from the sea, Barcelona is Spain’s most dynamic and cosmopolitan city! Your home for the next two nights, this fascinating metropolis dates back to Roman times and boasts a rich artistic and architectural heritage.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 7-8 BARCELONA SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME
Walk through the Gothic quarter during your morning sightseeing tour. Your expert Local Guide shows you the impressive cathedral, views of Gaudi's Sagrada Familia plus many of his other eccentric architectural masterpieces. Admire the Columbus Monument and stroll along Las Ramblas. Spend free time afterwards seeing the sights of your choice or consider an optional excursion to Montserrat to see the shrine of the Black Madonna - affectionately known in Catalonia as ‘La Moreneta’.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 8-9 BARCELONA - PENISCOLA - VALENCIA
Drive past orange and almond orchards to Peñiscola and see the ancient castle used in the film ‘El Cid’. Continue through the ‘huertas’ to sunny Valencia, the third largest city in Spain, where your orientation includes the town hall, the Bull Ring, the Towers of Serrano and Cuarte, and the cathedral.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 9-10 VALENCIA - GUADIX - GRANADA
Travel inland to the ‘sierras’ to view the troglodyte cave dwellings at Guadix. Cave houses are common throughout the province of Granada, but the highest concentration is in Barrio Santiago. Some of the cave dwellings look like small cottages, while others are walled earth mounds with chimneys jutting out. Drive via the jagged Mora Pass to the Moorish city of Granada.(Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)
Day 10-11 GRANADA - COSTA DEL SOL (3 NIGHTS)
Your expert Local Guide takes you on a sightseeing tour of the spectacular Moorish Alhambra Palace with wonderful views across the town and surrounding hills. Admire extraordinary architecture and the exotic water gardens of the Generalife, the royal summer residence. Arrive on the Costa del Sol where you stay for the next three nights.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 11-12 DAY TRIP TO MOROCCO
Travel along the Costa del Sol to catch the fast boat across the Mediterranean from the Iberian coast to North Africa. Travel to the Moroccan city of Tangiers where a Local Expert will show you some of the highlights of this emblematic coastal city. The visit to Tangiers includes a walk through the medina. Visit the souks and shop for typical Moroccan handicrafts and souvenirs in the bazaars. After this amazing adventure, return to your hotel on the Costa del Sol.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 12-13 COSTA DEL SOL FREE TIME
Today you are free to do as you please! Relax on the Sunshine Coast. This is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain, but was once a series of quiet fishing villages. Shop for souvenirs in the old town of Torremolinos, lie on the beach or perhaps take an optional excursion to the white-washed village of Mijas.(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 13-14 COSTA DEL SOL - GIBRALTAR - SEVILLE (2 NIGHTS)
A scenic drive takes you past the exciting millionaire's resort of Marbella and on to La Linea. Cross to the Rock of Gibraltar, where you have plenty of time for duty-free shopping. Continue through the Andalusian countryside around Jerez - famous for wine production - to Seville. Tonight you might like to experience a fiery Flamenco show!(Buffet Breakfast)
Day 14-15 SEVILLE SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME
Travel through Seville’s tree-lined streets on a sightseeing tour with an expert Local Guide. Visit Seville Cathedral and see the Giralda Tower, a former minaret converted to a bell tower. Visit the tomb of Christopher Columbus in the Cathedral, and the pools and fountains in Maria Luisa Park. Your guided tour finishes with a walk through the Jewish quarter. Day 15-16 SEVILLE - HIGH SPEED TRAIN - MADRID
Take a high speed train today from Seville to Madrid. Back in Madrid visit the world-famous Prado Museum with your expert Local Guide. Admire a wealth of art including works by Velaquez and Goya.
