Day 1: Arrive Hobart
On your arrival at Hobart Airport we transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Meet your Driver/Guide and discover Hobart on your afternoon city orientation tour. See Battery Point, the Botanic Gardens, Salamanca Place and Constitution Dock. Travel to the summit of Mt. Nelson for picturesque views over the city and the Derwent River. Tonight join your fellow travellers for a welcome drink.

Day 2: Port Arthur
Discover Tasmania's convict past on a guided walking tour of the Port Arthur Historic Site and a cruise around the Isle of the Dead. Cross Eaglehawk Neck, once the guarded check-point between the mainland and convicts, on to the Tasman Peninsula to feast our eyes on amazing vistas of the spectacular natural formations of Tasman's Arch, Devil's Kitchen and the Blowhole. B

Day 3: Freycinet National Park
Travel via the historic town of Ross with its bakeries and quaint buildings before visiting Freycinet National Park. A guided walk with a National Park Ranger will unveil astonishing views across brilliant blue water, forest and golden beach. Continue to seaside St. Helens, Tasmania's game fishing capital.

Day 4: Launceston
This morning we view the spectacular Bay of Fires from Binalong Bay Lookout. See Bridport, a picturesque seaside town, where Tasmanians spend their summer holidays. Travel to Beaconsfield, the home of the 'great escape'. We visit Rosevears Vineyard for a wine tasting, before arriving in Launceston.

Day 5: Lemonthyme
Pass through the historic town of Evandale with its elegant Georgian buildings before travelling to the heart of Tasmania for our overnight stay at Lemonthyme Lodge. This afternoon an opportunity to enjoy the unique beauty of this location on the edge of the Cradle Mountain National Park.

Day 6: Cradle Mountain
Travel to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre this morning. Here discover Waldheim Chalet, nestled among the myrtles and King Billy pines. There is time for you to walk around Dove Lake or just relax and enjoy the World Heritage scenery. Arrive this afternoon in Strahan, a picturesque fishing village on Tasmania's wild west coast.

Day 7: Gordon River Cruise
This morning we board our boat for the cruise along the famous Gordon River, including lunch. You'll be awestruck by the beauty of the dark waters, stained amber by buttongrass tannins, reflecting the untouched wilderness. See the ruins of the penal colony on Sarah Island. This afternoon there is an opportunity to ride on the West Coast Wilderness Railway from Strahan to Queenstown or maybe visit the Huon Pine Museum. Or you may wish to explore the quaint village of Strahan at your leisure. B L

Day 8: Tarraleah
Travel to Lake St. Clair and see the wild mountain landscapes of the Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair National Park. We continue to the restored Hydro town of Tarraleah. Take a rainforest walk through towering gums and huge ferns. The town's original buildings have been converted into accommodation.

Day 9: Peppermint Bay
Visit Mt. Field National Park and see the powerful fall of water at the three-tiered Russell Falls. Venture south to Huon pine country - you can smell it in the air! Tour Tasmania's only organic cheesery at Grandvewe Dairy and try some of their unique cheese as well as organic wines. We have time to explore Peppermint Bay, named after the trees that were found here by the early settlers, before boarding our cruiser for the journey back to Hobart. We'll pass a salmon farm before sailing under the Tasman Bridge.

Day 10: Depart Hobart
Discover the secrets of the Salamanca Market before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight. B
