Day 1 Jakarta
Arrive in Jakarta and learn about Indonesia's history at the National Museum and Purna Bhakti Pertiwi.

Day 2 Bandung
Embark on a train journey across classic Javan landscape. Explore the islands colonial pass and watch a traditional bamboo music performance.

Days 3-4 Pangandaran
Travel south-east through sprawling tea, coffee and fruit plantations towards the lush Indonesian coast. Glide between the impressive caves of the Green Canyon and take a dip in the turquoise water before heading to Pangandaran.

Days 5-7 Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta is Java's cultural heart, a spiritual town of temples and shrines. Explore the Hindu sites of Prambanan and visit the largest Buddhist temple in the world.

Day 8 Seloliman Nature Reserve
Get back to nature at a mountain retreat in Seloliman Nature Reserve and learn about the local environment.

Day 9 Mt Bromo
Get an insight into village life by taking a walk through rural Java. Visit a hydro-electric plant, stroll through a rice terrace and learn about Javanese traditional medicine.

Day 10 Ijen
Arise early and climb Mt Bromo for a spectacular sunrise over a sea of volcanoes. Tour a tea plantation in the Ijen Plateau.

Days 11-12 Tanah Lot
Cross the Java strait and head to mystical Bali. Enjoy a blissful sunset over Tanah Lot's venerated temples.

Days 13-15 Ubud
Browse Ubud's vibrant markets, meet monkeys in their forest sanctuary or have a go at whitewater rafting. Witness a Balinese cultural performance in the evening.

Day 16 Sidemen
Grab a bicycle and explore the laneways, hills, villages and rice paddies of this inspiring landscape. Head to the peaceful village of Sidemen and meet the friendly locals.

Day 17 Mt Batur
Learn the art of songket weaving at a local workshop before enjoying a traditional bungkus (take-away) lunch.

Days 18-19 Lovina
Awake early for yet another magical sunrise. Climb Mt Batur before heading to the coast for some snorkelling and relaxation.

Day 20 Bedugul
Leave the coast behind and visit Seririt Market and the tranquil Banjar hot springs. Travel inland to the picturesque mountain town of Bedugul.

Days 21-22 Ubud
Admire Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, one of Bali's most beautiful temples, situated in the centre of a glassy lake. Head back to Ubud, pick up some last-minute souvenirs or enjoy a final Balinese banquet before bidding this magical island farewell.
