Seating Options/Cabin Classes

Malaysia Airlines offers 3 distinct flying options;

First Class

With its own premium check-in facilities, worldwide Golden Lounge access and on board Chef-on-Call feature, Malaysia Airlines’ first class cabins offer private and spacious seats, complete with ottoman, large pillows and a quilted mattress with a down-filled duvet.

Business Class

Guests receive exclusive check-in and worldwide Golden Lounge access. In cabin, private and angled lie-flat seats provide extra comfort while offering personal entertainment consoles for video and audio as well as a wide variety of gourmet dishes.

Economy Class

Each economy class seat on most long haul flights features a 6.5 inch personal, seat-back screen with private entertainment. Advance seat selection for a nominal fee and choice of meals catering to personal dietary needs are also available.

In-flight Options

Malaysia Airlines offers personal entertainment consoles with seat-back screens, complimentary storybooks for kids and on-board duty free shopping. All cabins feature air to ground phones with email and text capability as well as personal computer connections. Amenity kits for business and first class travellers are included.

Checking In

Advance web check-in is available to all passengers within 48 hours of departure, where seat and meal selection can also be made. At the airport, First and Business Class passengers can expect exclusive check-in and in addition to the friendly staff, all guests can also use computerized, self check-in kiosks.

Checked Baggage

First Class passengers are permitted 2 pieces of checked luggage with each bag not exceeding 40kg/88lbs (32kg/70lbs for North American routes). Maximum dimensions (L x W x H) of each bag should not exceed 62 inches or 158cm.

Business Class tickets allow 30kg /66lbs per bag, maximum 2 checked pieces. Total maximum dimensions should not exceed 62 inches or 158cm.

Economy Class passengers have a free allowance of 20kg/44lbs carried in up to 2 pieces

with total dimensions of 107 inches or 269cm, combined.

Carry-on Baggage

First and Business Class cabins permit 2 carry-on pieces per seat and a single (1) piece for economy travellers. For all cabins, including Economy Class, the maximum dimensions of each piece should not exceed 45inches or 115cm. In addition, 1 personal item is allowed per traveller (purse/handbag, briefcase, overcoat, etc). Speak to a Flight Centre representative for infant baggage restrictions.

Fleet

Malaysia Airlines’ fleet consists of Airbus’ A380 and A330-200 and 300 series aircraft, as well as Boeing’s 777-200, 747-400p and 737-400 and 800 series planes.

The Enrich frequent flyer program allows travellers to accumulate and redeem points

by flying Malaysia Airlines and its airline partners, Air France, Alitalia, KLM, Delta, Jet Airways, Etihad, Virgin Atlantic, Sri Lankan Airlines and MAS Wings.

First and Business Class passengers are entitled to use the airline’s Golden Lounge worldwide.
