Qantas Carry-On Baggage

Before boarding your Qantas flight, it's important to remember your Carry-on Baggage Allowance. For all Qantas International flights, your carry-on baggage allowance is the following:

First Class/Business Class/Premium Economy Class

- 2 bags; each bag no bigger than 115cm/45in (total dimensions, l+w+h)

OR

- 1 bag @ 115cm/45in + 1 standard-sized soft garment bag

Economy Class

- 1 bag, no bigger than 115cm/45in (total dimensions, l+w+h)

All carry-on bags in any class of service must weigh less than 7kg/15lbs each and must either fit under the seat in front of you or be stowed in an overhead bin. Bags over the size and weight restrictions above can be checked by Qantas at the passenger's expense.

In addition to the above allowance, each passenger in any class of service is allowed onboard one extra small personal item, such as a Duty Free bag, a laptop/camera bag, purse or briefcase, umbrella or overcoat.

Children (2-11yrs) have the same baggage allowance as adult travellers.

Infants (under 2yrs - on lap) do not get a carry-on allowance but parents are allowed food and a diaper bag in addition to their standard allowance.

Qantas Checked Baggage

The carriage of your luggage is a part of your fare on every Qantas flight but there are limitations as to how much you can carry for free. Know your Qantas free Checked Baggage Allowance and pack accordingly.

If your ticket includes both domestic and international legs, the baggage rules of the international carrier apply to the entire ticketed journey. If your domestic and international flights are ticketed separately, you must adhere to the baggage rules of both airlines, using the most restrictive.

The following is what each passenger is permitted to check on Qantas international flights to/from North America, free of charge:
