Air Canada × Flight Centre Melbourne Café Pop-Up
Editor’s note: we are pleased to report that our #hellomelbourne event was a “true blue” success! Thank you to all those who came by for a complimentary flat white, experienced Air Canada’s Dreamliner VR and partied into the night enjoying Meltinis, tasty treats and Melbourne’s best beats. Don’t miss the #HelloMelbourne photo gallery below.
Editor’s second note: if you weren’t there, FOMO warning in effect!
To celebrate Air Canada’s launch of year-round flights to Melbourne from Vancouver, we are holding a Melbourne Café pop-up at our Travel Centre, Flight Centre Canada’s exciting new travel hub. We will be transforming the space to showcase all the sights and sounds this vibrant destination has to offer.
So, on Thursday, May 17, come on down to King & Spadina and enjoy a free, 100% authentic Australian flat white coffee by Black Bear Espresso and Pilot Coffee Roasters. Grab your quick caffeine fix either during the morning rush from 7:30 – 9:30 am or during lunchtime from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. Here’s a quick preview of what’s going to be featured at the pop-up.
Spectacular Street Art
Not all art is found housed in a gallery behind a velvet rope. Melbourne’s hidden passageways, like Hosier Land and Croft alley, feature the cutting-edge works of wildly creative artists.
Trendsetting Cuisine & Nightlife
Start your day off with a classic flat white at one of the city’s countless sidewalk cafes, then end things off with dinner and a cocktail at one of Melbourne’s 3,000 plus restaurants, where you can choose from some 70 world cuisines.
Road Tripping Across Victoria
Travel across Victoria and experience the region’s historic towns and stunning landscapes. You can travel from high in the mountains to the rugged southern coastline along the Great Ocean Road, just a short distance from Melbourne.
Cheers to the Wine Lovers
Whether it be Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, most travellers come to the lush Yarra Valley for the fabulous wines. Say cheers to other activities like a sunrise hot-air balloon trip or live music under starry summer skies.
Fly to Melbourne with Air Canada
Air Canada’s new, year-round service from Vancouver starts this June, with convenient connections from Toronto aboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. With options in Economy, Premium Economy or International Business Class you will enjoy complimentary meals, wines and spirits, as well as free noise-cancelling headphones, and personal touchscreen TVs with hours of entertainment.

The Toronto Travel Centre saw a line-up outside its King & Spadina doors, with caffeine-craving commuters ready to indulge in barista-made flat white coffees. Special thanks to Pilot Coffee Roasters’ handiwork and Black Bear Espresso’s tasty beans.
Nuno Alves, Flight Centre’s Marketing Manager, welcomes guests to the all-day, all-night event. (Not to mention, looked this good right to the very end.)
Animated attendees clearly having no fun at all at the event’s GIF photo booth.
Employees of Air Canada, one of the lavish event’s sponsors, welcome guests on board the virtual reality Dreamliner experience. Flight Centre travel experts can book flights from anywhere in Canada to Vancouver, to take advantage of AC’s new nonstop route to Melbourne.
A well-travelled crowd at the soiree portion of the night sampled Yarra Valley wines and the event’s signature sapphire blue cocktail, The Meltini. The Toronto Travel Centre provided the perfect backdrop, as guests enjoyed current Melbourne music played by a local DJ.
