Air Canada Now Boarding to Brisbane

As fireworks rule the sky over Sydney Harbour tonight, the world’s largest island nation will celebrate its country and culture, commemorating the establishment of the first European settlement at Port Jackson (now a part of Sydney) in 1788. Australia Day will surely be a cracker throughout the continent and Air Canada wants to help you celebrate right along.

Recently naming Brisbane as their upcoming, new, non-stop destination, Air Canada has now upped the ante, announcing that it will be taking the planned three times weekly service to a daily run instead, beginning June 17, 2016. The hot new offering will complement Air Canada’s ultra-popular year-round daily flights to Sydney to become the only non-stop, year-round option between Canada and Australia’s two hottest cities.

The route will be handled by Air Canada’s exciting new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, in a newly-designed and comfortable three cabin configuration. Offering 20 International Business Class lie-flat seat suites, 21 Premium Economy and 210 Economy Class seats, the state-of-the-art aircraft features upgraded in-flight entertainment at every seat, mood lighting throughout to help ease jet-lag and other goodies and enhancements.

Flights to both Sydney and Brisbane will commence from Air Canada’s Vancouver hub, promising excellent connectivity in both Canada as well as the Land Down Under. As the capital of Queensland, booming Brisbane is your gateway to many tourist hotspots including The Great Barrier Reef, The Whitsundays, Daintree National Park and a plethora of stunning beaches gracing the Gold Coast.

With the stars aligning as they are, there’s perhaps no better time to discover what has made Australia one of the most visited and beloved countries.  To do our part, we’ve assembled some of the best flight, hotel and activities options around, as this month’s Red Label Fares. Book your Air Canada flights with us and receive $150 hotel or car rental credit, our Price Drop Guarantee and more.

Being an Australian company, founded and still headquartered in Brisbane, we at Flight Centre Canada will definitely party along. With tasty meat pies we raise our flat whites (and perhaps a Foster’s or two) to toast and wish our friends across the Pacific, and Air Canada on their new route, a very happy ‘Straya Day’.

Cheers mate!
