Starting on May 25, 2015, Air Canada will be making some changes to its carry-on baggage policy.
The changes will take place first at the Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), and will expand to other airports throughout the month of June. Expect to see agents at check-in with new luggage tags that indicate your carry-on has met the necessary measurement requirements. You’ll also meet Air Canada staff at security checkpoints, ready and waiting to give you the go-ahead on your luggage.
If your Air Canada carry-on exceeds the measurements required to bring it on board with you, you’ll be given a card that will allow you to quickly return to a check-in agent who will assist you with checking your luggage before you continue on to your gate. The move is intended to increase efficiency, as many delays are caused by passengers over-stuffing their carry-on luggage in an attempt to avoid checked bag fees.
What do you think about these changes? Do you expect to see a speedier check-in process as a result? Let us know in the comments below!
