During the summer, the trees burst with tropical fruit, which many people pick and enjoy on the spot. Ziplining, kayaking, and guided hikes are all fantastic ways to experience Antigua’s “fluscious” rainforest (If you’re staying at The Royalton, Sugar Ridge, or Verandah Resort & Spa you can enjoy special hiking excursions).
2. Turn Up at Turners Beach
Turners Beach has one of the best atmospheres in Antigua. Stop by Rumbus Beach for a lively crowd and casual eats or enjoy the great company and excellent food at Jacqui O’s rustic fine dining spot. The kids will fall in love with Swash Water Park nearby.
3. Explore St. John’s
Both Antigua’s rural and city roads offer great views. In St. John’s, you’ll pass by rainbow-coloured neighbourhoods that are a sight for sore eyes (but a familiar view for many Maritime Canadians!) While in town, stop at the farmer’s market, local boutiques, museums, galleries, and snack shops. Plus, see if you can spot the VC Bird monument, in honour of Antigua’s first prime minister.
4. Watch a Cricket Match at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium
Antigua’s cricket obsession is far from unusual as a former British colony. Their state of the art stadium has hosted many nail-biting international cricket matches! If your island getaway lines up with cricket season, heading to Vivian Richards is a must.
5. Visit Devil’s Bridge National Park
Devil’s Bridge National Park is a worthwhile drive from anywhere on the island, but if you’re staying at Verandah Resort & Spa or Pineapple Beach Club, Devil’s Bridge is within hiking distance. 6. Gawk at Willoughby Bay

They’re a rehabilitation establishment sponsored by Eric Clapton (and- rumour has it – visited by Whitney Houston who also owned property in Antigua).
