Best restaurants in Phuket

Phuket, located in southern Thailand attracts travellers from around the world to its beautiful, bountiful beaches. Its food culture is also widely recognized, where you can shake off the sand and hit a street vendor for spicy noodles or shrimp satay.

Phuket restaurants can be a delicious departure from other parts of the country. Being on the ocean, freshly-caught seafood is showcased in its local dishes.

It’s not just sun worshippers. Passionate foodies flock here as well.

We’ve ranked the best Phuket restaurants, from the Thai’d tested and true to off-the-beaten path. They were also chosen not because they’re absolutely appeThaizing, but showcase the distinct and delectable regional flavours of Phuket.

Blue Elephant

Address: 96 Krabi Road, Phuket, 83000, Thailand

Traditional Thai ingredients and generations-old family recipes are what makes Blue Elephant one of the most well-known names in Thai cuisine. Fine dining served in a turn-of-the-century mansion once owned by the Governor of Phuket, feast on a selection of Thai favourites created by award-winning head chef Nooror Somany Steppe.

Try the Sarong Prawn, crispy deep-fried sea prawns served with rice noodles and pineapple sauce, or the Nam Prik Ru Pla Sine Tod, a deep-fried Andaman sand fish made with a classic chilli dip and served with various Thai vegetables. You’ll feel like royalty.

Kan Eang @ Pier, Chalong

Address: 44/1 Viset Road Moo 5 T.Rawai A.Muang Phuket 83130

Kan eang translates to ‘easy going’ which is the kind of atmosphere you’ll arrive in to. Relaxed and casually elegant, Kan Eang’s menu has something for everyone. While this restaurant specializes in Andaman seafood, particularly their meaty crabs and authentic Thai dishes, you’ll also find a selection of Japanese cuisine, “western-inspired” sandwiches and desserts, as well as a nice long list of cocktails to sip seaside. Enjoy in your order of preference.

Thong Dee – The Kathu Brasserie

Address: Soi Bangthong 110/25, Kathu, Phuket 83110, Thailand

One of the most popular restaurants in Phuket, it’s also one of the hardest to find. Located near Patong Beach on a quiet backstreet, Thong Dee’s warm lighting and cozy atmosphere will make it easy to spot. If you’re not exactly sure what you’re craving for by the time you get there, you’ll be relieved by the selection of European and traditional Thai cuisines available to you. It’s the perfect spot for something casual yet sophisticated.

Bang Pae Seafood Restaurant

Address: Thalang, Thalang District, Phuket 83110, Thailand

They say, when travelling, dine where the locals dine. And for any intrepid traveller at heart, Bang Pae is where you should follow it. Known for their Tom Yam Talay (hot and sour Thai seafood soup), Bang Pae’s fresh seafood and authentic Thai dishes are what makes this spot one of the best restaurants in Phuket. It’s slightly off-the-beaten-path, but it’s been a neighbourhood favourite for years. One taste of Bang Pae’s seafood and you’ll be hooked.

Oriental Spoon

Address: 106/46 Moo 3, Surin Beach Road, Cherng Talay, Phuket 83110, Thailand
