Deck The Holidays Onboard a Royal Caribbean Cruise

For many of us here in Canada, December looks relatively the same each year: brightly coloured lights on cold nights, spicy mulled wine by the fireplace, vast spreads of favourite family recipes, and an endless stream of social engagements. But for those who choose to cruise through Christmas, the holidays look just a little bit different.

Royal Caribbean‘s Deck The Holidays festivities bring together a more summery surfin’ Santa Claus than we’re used to with elves from around the world and everyone’s favourite DreamWorks characters, from Shrek to Madagascar’s Alex the Lion, instead of jolly old Saint Nick’s standard herd of reindeer.

Snow Days on Deck create a stunning winter wonderland in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, and tree lighting ceremonies provide a familiar festive feeling in a faraway place. The Holly Jolly Holiday Parade brings everyone on deck together for a fleeting but magical moment, while festive photo opportunities provide tokens to last long after you’ve docked back at home.

As you sail the seas between Miami, Mexico, and beyond, you can celebrate in any number of classic ways: caroling with your partner and friends, watching Christmas movies with your family, or participating in interdenominational holiday services – but your backdrop is everchanging and unlike anything you can experience at home on land.

So why not switch it up this holiday season? Or start a new tradition to make your family’s Christmas celebration as unique as you are? It’s one gift you can’t fit under the tree, but that is guaranteed to create a lasting memory that will set your holidays at sea apart from the rest.
