Fiji; a tropical paradise in the South Pacific made up of scenic, lush islands where the sun shines every day. This paradise is also known for it’s amazing resorts! David Gallie from GOGO Worldwide Vacations recently visited the beautiful islands of Fiji and highlights the best resorts for us:
Bula Baby, Fiji went above and beyond my expectations! I just got back from Fiji and having travelled extensively, and I have to say I was impressed with the beaches, the properties we saw, the islands, and of course the people. The Fijians were just voted the friendliest people in the world, and I would have to agree!
A lot of people dismiss Fiji as a potential vacation spot because they feel it is too far to travel and too expensive, I am going to put your mind to rest so that you will make Fiji your next destination; flights from Toronto are only about 4-5 hours longer than Hawaii and the prices are generally not that much more expensive.
When we landed we were taken to their in-terminal waiting lounge where we were met with peppermint scented cold cloths and bottled water. This is one of the great perks of booking through Flight Centre as myTime is exclusive to Flight Centre clients through GOGO Worldwide Vacations, and the luxury did not stop there. The resorts we stayed at put the word luxury to shame. We had an action-packed whirl-wind tour of Fiji, and I will highlight some of the amazing properties we stayed at.
This is a 5 star resort with rates starting around $130 per person per night, and you can enjoy the exclusive benefits of myTime at no extra cost! This was an awesome hotel, with beautiful rooms and grounds. Plus an amazing buffet breakfast and breathtaking spa!
Mango Bay Resort
This 2.5 star “Flashpacker” resort is perfect for the budget minded traveller with rates starting around $26pp per night. They have budget prices with dormitory and regular style accommodations. It’s a great resort with good food and incredible value for money.
Malolo Lailai Island
Plantation Island Resort
This is a 3 star starting around $100 per person per night, plus you can enjoy the exclusive benefits of myTime at no extra cost! It’s a great family destination for the budget minded traveller. It has comfortable rooms, a great beach and an excellent breakfast buffet.
Lomani Island Resort
I loved this 4 star resort starting around $190 per person per night; it’s a smaller property with only 12 luxury suites and 5 beachfront bures. This property offers incredible service; when staying here, most resort activities are free of charge, including daily outer reef snorkelling, island tours, boat trips. Diving, surfing, fishing and other activities are also available at a cost.
Likuliku Lagoon Resort
This is a 5 Star starting around $500 per person per night, and to me this property exuded everything that you think Fiji is. Lush gardens, arrival reception area that mimicked the Fijian bures and the accommodations are out of this world.
They only have three room categories; 45 total bures – Beachfront Bure, Deluxe Beachfront Bures, and the ONLY Over-water Bures in Fiji. Plus, the meals are included here!
Tokoriki Island Resort
This is a 4.5 star starting around $220 per person per night, plus you can enjoy the exclusive benefits of myTime at no extra cost! This one was one of my absolute favourites; from the greeting on arrival, to the beautiful grounds, the bures and of course the people. Never have I ever felt so welcomed and people genuinely care that you enjoy yourself. You are greeted by name and throughout your stay you will be asked how you are enjoying your stay. EVERYONE wants you to have an incredible time. Arrive as a guest, leave as friend.
The Spa is to die for, and they have specials for the spa $300FJD for 3 days of unlimited spa treatments! You can also stay 7 nights or more and get free helicopter transfers when staying in a Deluxe Beach Bure or Sunset Pool Villa!
