On August 4th, 2015, 28 Flight Centre employees along with the president & CEO of Make-A-Wish® Canada will leave for Reykjavik, Iceland to trek the Landmannalaugar route across the Southern Highlands through one of the country’s most actively volcanic areas led by G Adventures. The goal of the trek is to raise more than $60,000 to support wish-granting efforts across the country.
“A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. A wish can even mark a turning point in a child’s fight against their illness.”
Team Flight Centre is made up of 13 members from British Columbia, 12 members from Toronto and 3 members from Alberta. Make-A-Wish® Canada president & CEO, Jennifer Klotz-Ritter, is also joining the team representing Flight Centre’s charity of choice and the long-standing relationship the two organizations have shared over the past 11 years.
“A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. A wish can even mark a turning point in a child’s fight against their illness. In our recent Wish Impact Study, 89 per cent of medical professionals interviewed confirmed that a wish come true can influence the health of a child,” said Jennifer Klotz-Ritter, president & CEO, Make-A-Wish® Canada. “A wish granted is an enigmatic and, often, life-transforming event. I look forward to joining Flight Centre’s Wish Trek 2015 – each step will bring us closer to granting the wish of a courageous child in need.”
