Flight Centre Named One of Canada’s Top Employers for 14th Straight Year

For the fourteenth straight year, Flight Centre has been rated among the Top 50 Employers to work for in Canada, according to Aon Hewitt Research’s annual rankings.

Organizations were selected as Best Employers primarily on the basis of survey responses from more than 100,000 Canadian employees to gauge their level of engagement. At the core of the Best Employers list compiled by Aon Hewitt, a global HR consulting and outsourcing firm, is high employee engagement, which is driven by leadership quality, effective rewards, strong workplace culture and values, enabling productivity and the support of performance and development.

So What’s Our Secret?

  • We believe in building a brightness of future and often hire from within—more than 90 per cent of our company’s leaders began as travel consultants.
  • Top individuals and teams are honoured monthly, and we recognize our employees with awards including attending a global gathering; this year’s event was in Macau and featured singers Will.i.am and Jessie J.

Flight Centre also believes in giving back and helping our industry become more sustainable, particularly with respect to tourism’s impact on the environment and the destinations we send clients or visit ourselves.

Since 2010, we have been incorporating team building exercises that give back to the community as part of the Annual Consultant & Leadership Conferences. Flight Centre staff fundraise to cover the cost of materials, tools and transportation in order to make the projects happen which has resulted in donations of $275,000 over the past 5 years. These activities, managed by the Sandals Foundation, have resulted in the largest outreach programs of their kind in the Caribbean. Watch this video to learn more:
