Flight Centre’s No Hungry Holidays
Help us feed Canadians in need.
As a travel company, we love the holidays. But it’s for a different reason than you may think.
While we are happily busy helping Canadians escape to sunny destinations this chilly time of year, it’s the opportunity to help local communities that really drives us.
Full plates and full hearts are at the top of our wish list this season. That’s because 860,000 Canadians will rely on a food bank for their next meal in December, and 1 out of every 3 of them will be a child.
If you are looking to make your travels more meaningful, purchase an Airfare Package this month. For every one sold, Flight Centre is donating $2 from every Airfare Package sold to Food Banks Canada from December 1st to 31st.
You may also help us spread good cheer this month by dropping off non-perishable food items to any Flight Centre shop, which we will distribute to a nearby Food Banks Canada location.
For every $1 Food Banks Canada receives, the organization and food banks in its network are able to provide three meals. In other words, 33 cents is enough to provide one nourishing meal to a person in need.*
Join us this month in helping achieve our goal, which is providing up to 75,000 meals to empty tummies during this month of giving. It’s hard to be merry when you’re hungry, so let’s work together to give a gift that matters.

During the holiday season, we turn our focus to less fortunate local communities, as well as continue our year-round global corporate social responsibility work, which falls under our Brighter Futures initiative. The key components to this program include:

- FCTG People, advocating diversity and egalitarianism
- FCTG Environment, overseeing our carbon emissions reductions and auditing our suppliers.
As a global travel leader, Flight Centre Travel Group takes its influential role in the industry very seriously. FCTG supports, strategizes and advocates sustainable and responsible travel, adopting policies and procedures to not just maintain local communities and environmental conservation efforts but to improve them. One could call it a ‘leave no trace, improve a place’ model.
