A Sneak Peak at the New Hyatt Ziva in Montego Bay
One of the perks of being a travel agent, is getting to experience incredible resorts and hotels around the world for ourselves. Our Travel Consultant Selena was invited to Montego Bay to check out the brand new Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall which recently received a multi-million dollar renovation. She shares her highlights and why she recommends a visit.
This past month, I had the honour of checking out Hyatt’s brand new property the Hyatt Ziva in Montego Bay before it opened to the public. Because my background is hotel management, seeing a hotel come together is a really rewarding experience for me! I had heard that this new Hyatt property would be a great spot to bring wedding groups, families and couples. That being said I was excited to learn how the Hyatt would bring all of the above together. Below are some of my highlights and reasons why you should check this all-inclusive property out for yourself!
The food at the Hyatt Ziva was outstanding. They brought in head chefs from successful Hyatt properties in the United States to ensure that the food quality was up to par. I had a chance to dine at the Italian, Brazilian, and the Asian restaurants for dinner each night. The Brazilian restaurant stood out the most for me, as this was my first experience dining at a true Brazilian restaurant! The meat was moist and definitely a fun experience trying all the selections of meat! The service was great, and the servers kept coming around with more and more food to offer. The salad and anti pasta selection to help yourself to was a nice touch as well. The Asian Restaurant had two sections; we dined at the chefs table, in which the chefs cook right in front of you and the servers bring you what the chefs have prepared. The food quality was 5-star all the way and had excellent flavour, was fresh and the dining experience was fabulous! Lastly, I cannot forget the Jerk Hut. It was such a hit and in an ideal place by the pool and beach area. Not only would they offer jerk Chicken (which to me was my favourite) but also Jerk pork and fish. Super convenient for lunch by the pool or if you were coming back from a walk on the beach.
Destination Wedding Service
I organize and plan more honeymoons than destination wedding packages, but was still curious how the All Inclusive Hyatt Ziva and Zilara would cater to weddings. The Hyatt has intimate gazebos overlooking the water. They also arranged a mock set up for a wedding one evening so we could have an idea of what it would look like. I was impressed as they even had a saxophonist playing in the background which really set the mood. Afterwards they had a reception for us, that mimicked what a wedding reception would look like.
Lastly, one cannot forget about the Spa services and recreation options within the resort. They are planning to organize activities such as putting bikes in the pool for water cycle classes and setting up beach volleyball areas. I like the fact that they seem to offer not only the standard activities offered at an all-inclusive, but new unique ones as well. I inquired about beach volleyball and the activities team was quick to organize a game. The Spa was getting its finishing touches when I was there, but the staff were eager and ready for treatments! I was fortunate to try an aromatherapy message. The masseuse was amazing and great at her job. The attitude of all the activities and Spa staff was energetic and always eager and attentive.
Overall I was very impressed with the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall property in Jamaica. Although there were a few minor things that they were still finishing up quickly before opening, I can see this property as an excellent 5 star all-inclusive option. As soon as you are arrive, you are greeted by the extreme warmth and generosity of the staff. Each member greets you with a hand over their heart….”Service from the Heart is their motto” which is a very nice personal touch! All the staff go above and beyond and I highly recommend staying at this property for yourself.
