VANCOUVER (July 19th, 2011) – Flight Centre Canada and its corporate division, Corporate Traveller, is pleased to announce that Intrepid Travel has won the company’s 4th Annual Environmental Industry award established to recognize the industry supplier that has made the greatest effort to minimize their environmental impact. The award was presented to them at Flight Centre’s annual black-tie Ball held in Toronto on July 8th and in Vancouver on July 9th.

Several suppliers submitted proposals which represented all areas of the travel industry including airlines, resorts, car rental companies and tour operators. Intrepid Travel was chosen largely on the basis of the company achieving the remarkable goal of becoming carbon-neutral.

“We had another incredible group of submissions and continue to be impressed by the level at which our industry partners are demonstrating their commitment to the environment and supporting sustainable tourism.” said Greg Dixon, President of Flight Centre. “Intrepid Travel’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality was simply unmatched.”
