Our Family Vacation at Disneyland® Resort

Our Family Vacation at Disneyland® Resort

Family of four on Disneyland Vacation posing with Buzz Lightyear

A few months ago we gave away some Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper passes here on our blog by asking people to share their favourite Disney memory with us of their Disneyland vacations. Our winner Andrew was thrilled when we told him he won and his family quickly booked their trip to California. Having recently returned from their vacation, they share their experience with us including their favourite attractions:

We had a wonderful time at Disneyland®, where we stayed six nights at the Grand Californian Hotel and spent six days in both parks (Disneyland and California Adventure). We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Californian; the lobby of the hotel is quite impressive! The early access to the park and the accessibility and proximity of the hotel was well worth the price. We took advantage of the early access to the parks and were able to visit almost all of the rides and attractions at both parks during our stay.  disney1

We found a lot of trip planning information online (where to eat, when to go on a ride, etc), which we compiled and it definitely helped us during our trip.

Lauren, who was then 2 years old (she turned 3 on the 20th) loved seeing the Disney characters, especially Chip and Dale, Mickey and Pluto.

She also loved the new Ariel ride (Ariel’s Undersea Adventure) in the California Adventure and the Peter Pan (Peter Pan’s Flight) ride.  We watched the evening and daytime Christmas parade at Disneyland and Lauren, who was wearing her special birthday pin, received a birthday wish from Mrs. Claus – what a treat!

Madison, who is 8 years old, loved all of the rides. We took advantage of the fast pass and rider swap and were able to avoid long line ups and wait times.  Our time of travel (early December) was wonderful as the park was not very busy.  We were able to go on some rides multiple times and the longest wait time was 20 minutes (When we last travelled to Disneyland in 2004, we waited 2.5 hours for the Finding Nemo ride!).

We are always impressed at the attention to detail that went into the atmosphere of the park and rides.  The World of Colour was truly impressive!

Thanks again for the wonderful prize Flight Centre!

-Samantha and Andrew
