As the name would give away, the open-air, beachfront Poseidon Restaurant & Pub specializes in fresh seafood. Named after the Greek mythological character, Poseidon pays homage to the god of the seas with a storm of strong cocktails, like the caipirinha, and hosts several themed night parties.

Poseidon regularly features an extensive wine list featuring wines from all over the world, best enjoyed lounging on the restaurant’s terrace.

Jellyfish Beach Restaurant

Address: Playa Bibijagua, Bavaro, Punta Cana, D.R.

One of the most popular bars and seafood restaurants in Punta Cana, Jellyfish Beach Restaurant is one of the best spots to enjoy a refreshing island-inspired drink. Sit beachfront and take in the dreamy, sweeping views of the sea and let time stand still as the waves quietly roll in.

Langosta Roja Bar & Restaurant

Address: Vecarian Plaza, Bavaro, Punta Cana, D.R.

Not too far from Jellyfish, head over to Langosta and enjoy a cocktail on the beach. Enjoy a Coco Loco, a Dominican rum-based cocktail made with pineapple juice, coconut cream and a light sugar syrup, and be sure to order up a seafood appetizer.

Captain Cook Bar

Address: Playa El Cortecito, Bavaro, Punta Cana, D.R.

Captain Cook Bar is one of the most popular beach bars and a favourite among visitors to Punta Cana. Stop by the award-winning hidden gem for a few shots of mamajuana, a Dominican rum-based liquor, enjoy the ocean view and dig into a seafood platter of fresh lobster, jumbo shrimp and one of the popular local fish, like the red snapper.

Soles Chill Out Bar

Address: Playa Bavaro, Punta Cana, D.R.

Just about everything about Soles is exactly as its name suggests. Sit out at one of the tables on the sand with a refreshing drink and watch the sunset over the water.

After dark, there’s usually a live band or chill DJ. Every week they have a Chill My Sunday night where you’re serenaded with chill live music. Feast on a platter of local fresh seafood, like shrimp and coconut fish fillets, and let the stress just melt away.

For a night out closer to the locals, be sure to venture off your hotel resort and find yourself among new friends out on the town in Punta Cana. Just remember that the “what only happens in…” rule only applies to Las Vegas. As always, please drink responsibly.
