Richard Branson Discovers Losing a Bet Is a Drag

Richard Branson Discovers Losing a Bet Is a Drag

What happens when Richard Branson loses a bet? For all you billionaire airline entrepreneurs reading this, the answer will be clear: you dress in drag. The Virgin Airlines founder donned a female flight attendant uniform on Sunday after losing a bet with AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes on whose Formula One racing team would win.

Branson hammed it up for the media as he pared down to his boxers, having his legs publicly shaven prior to putting on pantyhose and the cherry red Air Asia pencil skirt, fitted blazer and matching patent flats (presumably he’s ‘well-heeled’ enough that he went for the heel-less shoe option.) The look was completed with a full face of make-up and hair clips.

The Virgin magnate then proceeded to board a six hour flight from Australia to Malaysia, fulfilling such flight attendant duties as serving drinks. The proceeds from the trip went to the Starlight Foundation, a charity for sick children.

The fulfilling of the bet didn’t come at jet speed; the wager was made nearly three years ago, before the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
