Tel Aviv to Become a Middle East First for Air Transat
This summer, Canada’s premier charter airline, Air Transat, will begin the only non-stop flights between Montreal and Israel. Operating twice-weekly, the service will be available from Toronto as well, with connections in Montreal’s Trudeau airport.
From June 18, 2017 until late October, the seasonal service to Tel Aviv is set to operate on Wednesdays and Sundays. In addition to flights, Transat will also be offering travellers an assortment of holiday packages, including hotels and guided tours, focusing on Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the region’s many tourist attractions and points of interest.
While shuttling Canadians to The Holy Land, the airline also hopes for reciprocal visits to Canada from Israelis looking to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday and Montreal’s 375th, both taking place in 2017.
“We are thrilled to feature our very first destination in the Middle East. The demand for a direct Montreal-Tel Aviv flight was high for travellers visiting friends and family in the two cities and those in search of new discoveries. Tel Aviv is a vibrant and modern metropolis with plenty to offer when it comes to culture, gastronomy and nightlife. It is also the ideal gateway for a vacation immersing travellers in ancient and religious history.” – Annick Guerard, President and General Manager of Transat Tours Canada.
Air Transat, named ‘Best North American Leisure Airline’ for the last five years, will use their Airbus A330-300 aircraft on the route, configured to accommodate 345 seats. On board, guests can expect a comfortable cabin environment with a professional crew, full meal and beverage service and personal touch-screen seat-back entertainment. Complimentary checked baggage will also be available.
