Seminyak is a tropical sandy paradise with vast views of the Indian Ocean, and since it’s just 25 minutes north of Ngurah Rai International Airport, it’s worth the visit no matter where you’re staying for your Bali vacation. Use this Best Things to Do guide to curate your perfect Seminyak getaway.

1. Take it Easy At Potato Head Beach Club

The heart of a true Seminyak experience is found at the beach. But don’t just throw a towel on the sand and call it a day, take your beach escape to the next level at Potato Head Beach Club. With three restaurants, three bars, an infinity pool, and great live music to chill out to, it’s hard to do better than this.

What to expect: Enjoy an exclusive view of the Indian Ocean from a comfortable beach daybed at the eclectic and modern Potato Head Beach Club or take a refreshing dip in their shimmering infinity pool. The club often serves as a venue for trendy music and cultural programs, so check ahead to see if there’s anything abuzz that you don’t want to miss.

Tips for visiting: For a family-friendly meal, head upstairs to Pizza Garden where you can experiment with carefully curated local ingredients or stick to Western fares. Be sure to book a table in advance (you can easily do this on their website) to avoid waiting in any lines – the food here is to die for, and people know it!

2. Check Out Seminyak Yoga Shala

An unexpectedly serene escape from the crowds, Seminyak Yoga Shala offers traditional yoga classes led by experienced and certified instructors. It’s a phenomenal way to wind down after a day at the beach and allow both mind and body to feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

What to expect: Grab a spot in a mid-day casual class, or if you’re looking for an even more immersive experience, take part in a sunrise or sunset Vinyasa flow. If you’re just curious, stop by their adjoining raw food café and simply enjoy the serene atmosphere.

Tips for visiting: Deeply committed to authentic yoga traditions, Seminyak Yoga Shala doesn’t offer classes on either new moon and full moon days, so check your calendar or call ahead of time to make sure you don’t miss out.

3. Visit Pura Petitenget

The Petitenget Temple, or Pura Petitenget, was built in the 16th century along with several other sea temples. Today, it is still used as a prayerful haven and it’s open to anyone who would like to see the spiritual landmark for themselves.

What to expect: Don’t rush the experience. This is one of the few remaining authentic cultural landmarks in Seminyak, and there’s a lot of beautiful traditions to take in if you’re paying attention. Depending on the time of year, you might be able to catch some of the festivities that occur every 210 days.

Tips for visiting: Dress respectfully and cover your knees and shoulders. You can also adorn yourself with one of the temple sarongs. Be prepared to make a donation before entering the temple grounds.

But, you’ll also notice many local gems along the way with designer clothes and accessories, art, and collectibles.

Tips for visiting: The Seminyak Village is a few minutes’ walk away from a number of luxury resorts, but if you’re travelling by rented car, there’s excellent underground parking available, too. You’ll also find money exchange services, ATMs, and concierge services for your convenience.
