Top 5 Holiday Gift Items for Travellers
Finding the perfect gift for that frequent flyer in your life can be a bit intimidating, so we’ve put together our favourite tech and travel gear options to add to your shopping list. Have any more great gift ideas? Share them with us!
1. External Battery Charger
If you know someone who is always on the go, and always using their mobile device to check-in for their flight, while browsing e-mails etc, then chances are they rip through their battery pretty quickly. Even when airports have charging stations, I find they are often already in use by others or you have to walk quite far from your gate to find one. This is where an external battery charger comes in handy. Travelling journalist @NikkiBayley recommends the New Trent external charger which she says has lasted her for ages. If you’re looking for something a bit smaller but mighty, travelling techie Aaron, recommends the Monoprice external battery pack and charger for apple or other USB mobile devices. It holds more than two full phone charges and more than a full ipad charge.
2. The Olloclip
This is a device that attaches to your iphone which can give you a fish-eye, macro or wide angel lens and allows you to capture some great photos without having to lug around a DSLR camera. Perfect for the Instagrammer in your life.
3. Noise Cancelling Headphones/Ear Buds
Great for reducing noise on an airplane, there are a variety of brands that offer both headphone or ear bud style which are both stylish and comfortable. Scott Stratten, world traveller and author of UnMarketing says, “I prefer the noise isolating earbuds from Shure. They make a seal in your ear versus adding noise. Twice the clarity, half the volume.”
4. The Scottevest
Carrying electronic gadgets on the road, means a lot of unloading and reloading pockets at airport security. Luckily, the Scottevest Travel Vest was born, which has inspired over 50 hidden pocket clothing items including jackets, hoodies, dresses and pants.
This is also a great way to keep your gadgets in a safe place when you’re out site seeing and is super comfortable to top it off.
5. Flight Centre Gift Card
