Airports are sometimes the least of jolly places to spend your holidays with some travellers facing delays, cancellations or other mishaps. But our friends at WestJet decided to treat travellers to a Christmas miracle by having 150 WestJet employees take on the role as Santa’s Little Helpers.
The airline set-up a station with a virtual Santa at Toronto Pearson Airport and Hamiltion International Airport for travellers waiting to board their flights to Calgary. Once they told Santa what they wanted for Christmas, the Westjet team took off on shopping sprees to find those items so people could receive their Christmas wishlist upon landing in Calgary.
The entire event was captured by hidden cameras, and Westjet’s Vice President of Communications and Community Relations, Richard Bartrem explains more behind their project in this video:
Well played Westjet, well played indeed!
