Air Canada Changing Reservation System Next Week. Here’s What Travellers Need to Know

Air Canada’s flight reservation system will be going offline between 18:00 EST on November 18th until as late as 08:00 EST on November 19th. While this won’t have an impact on any flight schedules, travellers hoping to book a flight, check-in to a flight, or make changes to their travel preferences during this time should be aware of a few limitations.

What this means for you if you are booked on Air Canada

Air Canada will be moving from its current reservation system to a new passenger service system called Altéa Suite, operated by Amadeus.

During the transition time starting on the evening of November 18th, you will not be able to access Air Canada Contact Centres, aircanada.com, or Air Canada for Business. FCBT travel managers will also not be able to access our Air Canada reservation system during this time.

Can I make changes to my travel preferences during this time?

While Air Canada’s reservation system is offline, it will not be possible to make changes to travel preferences such as special meals, eUpgrades, advance seat selection, or seat assignments.

If possible, we recommend setting your travel preferences with your business travel manager before the reservation system goes offline.

What if I’m checking in for a flight during this time?

Airport services will continue to be available during this time. Travellers can check-in with their passport, Aeroplan/frequent flyer number, Air Canada booking reference or ticket number at available kiosks and counters.

Online check-in with your Air Canada booking reference number will also continue to be available via mobile app or computer.

Baggage drop counters will use the same application as check-in.

Will I be able to change my flight at the airport during this time?

No. Changing your flight at the airport will not be possible while Air Canada’s reservation system is offline.

If you need to make last-minute changes to your travel plans, your FCBT business travel manager will continue to be available for 24/7 travel support!

Can I book a flight with Air Canada during this time?

While Air Canada’s reservation system is offline, it will not be possible to make new bookings or change existing bookings. Payment and deposits on group bookings will not be available at this time.

As always, your business travel manager can help you and your colleagues get to where you need to go. Connect with us to find your best options for travel.

What happens after the transition?

Once the transition to Altéa Suite is complete, all Air Canada reservation functionality will become accessible again.

Your business travel manager will be able to book and make changes to your Air Canada itineraries as per normal, and you will continue to be able to check-in as per normal.
