The coveted Skytrax World Airline Awards were presented in London, England, yesterday, and the 2018 winners are still celebrating, Canadians among them.
Decided on by travellers through a global customer satisfaction survey, this year’s results saw 20.36 million entries from more than 100 countries. Since their inception in 1999, the annual awards established an independent and impartial awards process voted on by travellers only, with no costs to take the survey and only the use of the Skytrax logo, reputation, and the results themselves as prizes.
Canadian carriers did exceptionally well this year, with Air Canada and WestJet taking top honours in North America, and Air Transat capturing a global award, too. Porter Airlines finished in the top 10 of World’s Best Regional Airlines.
