Top 10 Canada adventures

Top10CanadaAdventuresOur home and native land is full of mountains, glaciers, lakes and forests where outdoor adventures are simply endless. For those of you looking for an adrenaline rush, we’ve put together our Top 10 Canada Adventures. It’s amazing how many great things we can experience right here in our very own backyard and we had to share them with you:

zipline

1. Get Wired

Soar 70 metres above the forest between Whistler and Blackcomb on suspended steel cables. The course runs you through a series of suspension bridges, treetop observation platforms and ziplines. This solo flying journey operates year-round. We recommend:  Ziptrek Eco Tours

2. Ride the Tide

The Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick gets the world’s highest tides. Ride the tidal bore at the mouth of the Shubenacadie River in a zodiac and experience the equivalent of a tidal wave. We Recommend: 2-hour Tidal Bore Rafting

3. Take a Leap

Wakefield, Quebec is only 20 minutes outside of Ottawa and is home to North America’s highest bungee jump. Leap 200 feet over a limestone amphitheatre and aqua blue lagoon. We Recommend: Great Canadian Bungee.

adrenalineride4. Steep Descent

Get the adrenaline pumping as you descend steep rock faces and root strewn paths on the many ski hills that open for mountain biking during the summer such as Mont-Saint-Anne in Quebec who recently held World Cup and World Championship races and Whistler in British Columbia. Or for a more relaxing ride, cruise through the forests of Canada’s provincial parks.

5. Soak it Up

Feel an adrenaline rush on a thrilling jetboat ride along the waters of the Niagara River Gorge or get up close to the 13-story Niagara Falls on Maid of the Mist boat tour.

6. Chill out with Polar Bears

Churchill, Manitoba is the ‘Polar Bear Capital of the World’ where tundra trekkers get a chance to get up-and-close with these rare white bears. Prime viewing times are in October and November, when the bears move from their summer habitat on the tundra back to seal-hunting territory. We Recommend: 6-day Classic Polar Bears escorted tour

7. Raging Rivers

Raging RiversCanada’s raging rivers and spectacular scenery combine to provide a memorable white water river rafting experience. Get your feet wet and go for a day of rafting or dive right in and take on a week long rafting adventure expedition. Popular rafting areas are the Thompson River in BC, Ottawa River, Banff in Alberta and Rouge River in Quebec plus many more. We Recommend: 2-night rafting package on the Thompson River at Kumsheen Resort

8. Wild Caving

Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park on Vancouver Island, BC, is the site of over 1,000 caves and karst formations. Tours will have you repelling down a seven-storey waterfall and climbing back out on a cable ladder.

Ice Trek

9. Ice Trek

Located on the boundary of Banff and Jasper National Parks in the Canadian Rockies, the Columbia Icefield covers nearly 325 square kilometres. The chrome and azure ice withsome  800 frozen waterfalls is ideal for ice trekking and climbing. We recommend: Icefields Parkway & Glacier day tour

10. Catch a Big One

Reel in a giant bluefin tuna or go shark angling on Canada’s Atlantic Coast in Prince Edward Island. You will gain a whole new appreciation for fresh seafood after you take part in a deep-sea shing excursion. We recommend 4.5-star accommodation in Charlottetown at the Delta Prince Edward.
