Plaza Premium Opens Newest VIP Lounge in Canada at YVR

Yesterday was the Official Grand Opening of the Plaza Premium Lounge at Vancouver International Airport, and we had a chance to check it out. The newly opened lounge is the 4th Plaza Premium Lounge now available to travellers at YVR Airport. Plaza Premium Lounges are also available in Canada at Toronto Pearson, Edmonton International and Winnipeg’s James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.

We’ve all been there…sitting in our economy class seat on a long haul flight looking longingly at the business class travellers who upon landing have an airline lounge waiting for them. And as you drag yourself off the plane to find the gate for your next flight, you hope that the layover time passes quickly. What you wouldn’t give to have a nap or even a shower to re-charge you for the next leg of your journey!

Thanks to Plaza Premium the travel experience for the 85% of people not travelling business class is changing one VIP lounge at a time. Founded on the belief that all travellers should have the option of a first-class experience regardless of airline or fare class, Plaza Premium has established more than 120 Independent lounges within 31 international airports worldwide.

Vancouver International Airport’s Domestic Departures Terminal is home to the newest Plaza Premium Lounge, the 4th at YVR joining the ones already accessible for travellers flying internationally or for flights to the USA. At over 6,000 square feet it has a seating capacity of 135 spread amongst comfortable seats and private work stations complete with high speed Wi-Fi and charging sockets. Its bright, airy feel is complemented by a clean, elegant design that would rival any of the major airline lounges. The selection of freshly prepared food features artisanal breads, pastas, soups and salads focusing on healthy options specifically with travellers in mind.

But probably the biggest draw for the weary traveller will be access to one of the three luxury shower rooms complete with full amenities. Available from $40 for 3 hours, Plaza Premium Lounge guests can also relax in a comfortable recliner available in one of three semi-private resting areas.
