The Best Hotels in Thailand
We sent our Travel Consultant Peggy to Thailand to check out some of the top hotels (we know it’s a tough job but someone has to do it). She shares her highlights with us, and what to know before booking accommodations in Thailand.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting some of the top hotels in Thailand with GOGO Worldwide Vacations. We visited Bangkok, Koh Samui and Phuket during our visit to Thailand and in 7 days, we visited 14 wonderful hotels suitable for all different types of travellers.
If you’re into shopping, Bangkok offers everything from custom fit jeans to jewellery and everything in between at a good deal. There’s a great hotel directly connected to the world famous MBK Shopping Centre; the Pathumwan Princess. I had the pleasure of staying at this classy 5 star hotel, great for both tourist and business travellers alike.
The rooms were spacious, modern and comfortable and they offer rooms with two twin beds or one king bed and there are upgrades available to suites which offer larger rooms for families or business travellers. One of the best things this hotel offers is the breakfast included in the room rate. It offers both Western and Asian style breakfast with Thai and Chinese specialties and all sorts of pastries and baked goods, it’s a great way to start the day with a full belly, energized for a big day visiting all Bangkok’s temples and other points of interest.
A second amazing option for a traveller interested in a more boutique style, artsy hotel, Siam @ Siam Design is definitely a great choice!
This hotel is also centrally located to all the great shopping in Bangkok. This hip and classy hotel offers 6 different venues including a roof top bar to relax and enjoy good food, drinks and music with their nightly live music features after a long day of visiting Bangkok.
When you head down south to one of Thailand’s most famous islands, Koh Samui, you leave the hussle and bustle of the big city and head to a relaxing island with some of the best beaches in the world and some of the best resorts located right on the beach. We had the pleasure of experiencing 2 types of resorts in Koh Samui.
The first one was the Chaweng Regent Beach Resort located right in the heart the action of Chaweng Beach where are the night clubs, bars and markets are located directly across the street from the resort. This resort has all sorts of room categories to choose from but the lovely bungalows with traditional Thai furnishings really added a nice touch to the resort. For travellers who want a beach resort but the ability to explore the islands major attractions easily, this is definitely a great option.
However, if you’re on your honeymoon or looking for a real island resort getaway away from all signs of city life, the sister resort to the Chaweng Regent called the Melati Beach Resort is a luxury traveller’s dream come true.
This resort is located in the north part of the island in Thongson Bay, approximately 25 mins drive away from all sorts of tourist attractions of Koh Samui. The resort is beautiful and lush and offers a retreat with private pool villas and a Thai Village theme. Their dining and spa is first class and there’s definitely never a need to leave the resort.
With a quick hop, skip and jump, a 40 minute flight over the mainland has you landing in the most famous Western Island of Thailand, the crazy fun island of Phuket. There are so many hotel options on Thailand’s largest island but if you want to be in the midst of all the action, Patong Beach is where it’s at and perfectly located right off the main strip is the modern and hip hotel, The Kee Resort.
This resort was by far the nicest of all the resorts we had the pleasure of staying at in Thailand, not just the rooms but more so the facilities that hotel offers, free wifi, swim up bar, direct access to the bar strip and so much more!
On the opposite side of the island, at Kata Noi Beach, you will find one of the most luxurious resorts I have ever visited, The Shore At Katathani.
I have since added this hotel to my list of places to stay in my life time. The reason why I loved this resort so much is because of the room and it’s utter beauty. From your king sized bed, the sliding balcony doors open to a private swim up infinity pool and some of the most beautiful views of the Adaman Sea. There are both indoor and outdoor showers, covered and open air relaxation and sun beds on your personal sun deck. It’s the perfect blend of luxurious seclusion and boundless space.
These were just 6 of the fabulous resorts I visited personally and there are so many great choices for all sorts of travellers. For anyone interested in travelling to Thailand, I would love to hear from you and help you plan your trip and find the perfect hotels for you!
