Air Canada announced today that its Calgary Maple Leaf Lounge is getting a makeover. As Calgary International Airport undergoes expansion, Air Canada takes this opportunity to renovate the popular Maple Leaf Lounge. The Lounge’s size is smaller, but still offers amenities like comfortable seating, business centre, bar and hot and cold food items.

Due to its reduced size, no lounge access purchases or Maple Leaf Lounge One-Time Guest Pass are permitted during renovations. Between 11:30 am and 6:30, only the following passengers will be admitted to the Lounge:

  • Air Canada Business Class boarding pass holders
  • Star Alliance Gold members (no guest)
  • Maple Leaf Worldwide members (no guest)
  • Altitude Super Elite 100K members, accompanied by one guest

All other eligible members and guests are welcome outside those hours and normal access is expected by September, 2015, where Lounge guests will enjoy enhanced new features and top amenities in a sleek and polished setting.

Perhaps guests of the future Calgary Maple Leaf Lounge will be as lucky as their London-Heathrow airport counterparts, who enjoy the royal treatment in Air Canada’s latest Maple Leaf Lounge, which opened last month. Fittingly, the Lounge is situated in Terminal 2, which is also called The Queen’s Terminal.

Canada’s national carrier referred to its new Maple Leaf Lounges as a “sanctuary for the discriminating traveller” providing eligible passengers departing London on long-haul flights with chef-prepared meals, a tended bar with complimentary beer, wines and spirits, spa-like showers, a business centre with PCs, printers and scanners, complimentary Wi-Fi and a relaxation zone with pods and chaises. The following passengers may access the London-Heathrow Maple Leaf Lounge:

  • International Business Class boarding pass holders
  • Super Elite 100K, Elite 75K and Elite 50K customers (accompanied by their partner, dependent children, and one guest)
  • Maple Leaf Club Worldwide members (accompanied by one guest)
  • American Express AeroplanPlus Platinum and Corporate Platinum card holders
  • American Express Maple Leaf Club card holders
