If you’ve ever travelled with your family, be it a Griswold-style road trip or a far-off adventure, you know it can be full of blips, unpredictability, and often, heaps of hilarity – especially when dad’s along for the ride.
It’s almost as if travel ignites a certain cheekiness in fathers, empowers them to keep the mood light and somehow sharpens their punny-bone. Dad jokes may be eye-rollers, deep sighs, and face-palm worthy in the moment, but when we think back to some of our best family vacations, they wouldn’t be half as good without dad’s obtuse sense of humour.
So, for the love of dads on Father’s Day, we’ve compiled some of our favourite dad jokes, inspired by travel. Enjoy!
Dad on a Beach:
What did the ocean say to the shore?
Nothing, it just waved.
What’s worse than raining cats & dogs?
How does a penguin build its house?
Igloos it together.
Where do sharks go on vacation?
What did the pig say on the beach?
Dad on a Plane:
Why did the librarian get kicked off the plane?
It was overbooked.
What travels around the world but stays in one corner?
What sound does a bouncing plane make?
What happens when you wear a watch on a plane?
The food provided on the small aircraft wasn’t good…
It was a little plane.
Dad in a Restaurant:
What do you call a fake noodle?
Did you hear about the restaurant on the moon?
Great food, no atmosphere.
Dad on Travel:
I WRITE ALL MY JOKES IN CAPITALS.
THIS ONE WAS WRITTEN IN PARIS.
My wife told me: “sex is better on holiday.”
That wasn’t a very nice postcard to receive.
Why did the witch stay in a hotel?
They had great broom service.
Where do crayons go on vacation?
I’m not sure where to find snow in America.
What does Santa Claus do for his summer holidays?
It’s all good, dad, we still love ya.
Now give him a big hug, buy him a Flight Centre travel gift card (with a special Father’s Day bonus!), and keep the laughs going.
From all of us at Flight Centre,
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
