WestJet Encore’s BC Wine Promotion Makes a Splash

by Alyssa Daniells

We know that when similar wines are grouped together for tasting, it’s called a flight. Perhaps you didn’t know that select WestJet flights are offering BC wine flights, in-flight.

WestJet partnered with the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society to promote WestJet Encore, a regional carrier servicing Western Canada that launched last month. During July, August and September, WestJet Encore customers will enjoy an excellent selection of premium Okanagan wines on flights to and from Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Fort St. John, Calgary and Saskatoon.

The Okanagan Valley is an internationally recognized and respected wine region. WestJet Encore is the first airline to exclusively showcase British Columbian wineries; other regions will be re-introduced once the promotion ends.

The campaign’s aim is twofold: to highlight new destinations and routes offered by WestJet Encore and to encourage tourism to the Okanagan region, which already attracts tens of thousands of wine enthusiasts to its festivals annually. WestJet is a longtime sponsor of these popular gatherings.

The following wineries are being featured throughout July: Blasted Church Vineyards, Gray Monk Estate Winery, Lang Vineyards, Oliver Twist, Perseus Winery, SunnyBrae Vineyards, St. Hubertus Winery, The View Winery, Therapy Vineyards, and Wayne Gretzky Okanagan.

In August, WestJet Encore passengers can look forward to samplings from Ganton & Larsen Prospect Winery, Inniskillin Okanagan Estate Winery, Jackson Triggs Okanagan Estate, Road 13 Vineyards, See Ya Later Ranch, Sumac Ridge Estate Winery and the Vibrant Vine.

Whether you’re an oenophile or wine neophyte, the next few months on WestJet Encore are sure to be palate pleasing.
