You wouldn’t think that the largest monuments in Canada would be easy to miss, but seems we managed to do just that! Thanks to you guys, as a follow-up to our Canada's largest landmarks, we’ve curated a second list of Canada’s biggest and boldest behemoths!
Can you tell us where Canada's largest Canadian flag is located?
On the previous Top 10, we cut down our list by choosing one giant monument per province. This time around, we’re all over the map (literally!)
1. World’s Largest Paper Clip – Kipling, Saskatchewan
The town of Kipling may be small, but it keeps it together with a big claim to fame. According to Guiness World Records, Kipling is home to the “World’s Largest Paper Clip.” At 15' 2" tall, over 45 feet long and weighing 3043 lbs of steel, this landmark certainly holds it together and stacks up to the rest.
2. Giant Cow -- New Liskeard, Ontario
Don't have a cow, man! Mooo-ve over Big Nickel, Ontario has another giant landmark. Although not nearly as famous as its Sudbury counterpart, this massive monument is certainly large and in charge. The giant Holstein cow is located at Little Claybelt Homesteaders Museum, celebrating the area's rich agricultural history. You could say, it beHOOVES us to put it on this list.
3. World’s Largest Axe - Nackawic, New Brunswick
You had an axe to grind, and we listened! How could we put this mammoth landmark on the chopping block? The soaring, 15-metre, 55-tonne axe is the world's biggest and while it doesn't have a Guiness Record, we think it should make the 'cut.'
4. Harvey's Big Potato - Maugerville, New Brunswick
This spud's for you, those who had an 'eye' on our first blog! We like to avoid 'chips' on shoulders, so please forgive us when we sing the praises of this potato! He's a well dressed tater to say the least, decked out in a dashing top hat, which might cover his 'salt-and-pepper,' making it hard to tell his age.
7 . Giant Painted Easter Egg - Vegreville, Alberta
We cracked to pressure and scrambled to add this behemoth beauty to the list. Would you egg-spect any differently of us? Located in Vegreville, this stunning showpiece celebrates the town's Ukranian heritage. This pysanka was even featured as the first in a series of stamps commemorating Canadian Roadside Attractions, issued by Canada Post in 2009. Pretty eggs-cellent, we think.
5. Big Beaver - Beaverlodge, Alberta
Frankly, we do give a 'dam' about this giant buck-toothed statue! This appropriate homage to its town of Beaverlodge is also our Canadian mascot, so why not be an eager beaver and visit it during our 150th birthday?
6. Sundial - Lloydminster, Alberta

Don't let the sun go down on Lloydminster. Its sprawling sundial is the largest of its kind in Canada, measuring 60 metres (197 feet). Seems our friends in Alberta really love to shine a light on giant landmarks!
