The famous Rick’s Cafe is a cliffside bar and restaurant, where the adventurous can take the plunge off one of the many cliff jumps. Not feeling so adventurous? Perfect. Hang back at the cafe, find yourself amongst good company, and enjoy a Red Stripe or rum punch.

2. Bask in rays for days on the best beach in Jamaica

Spend the day on Seven Mile Beach, Negril’s most famous beach, and sink into the soft, white silky sand. Live reggae bands, entertainment, and food stalls can also be found near the postcard-perfect blue shores.

3. Sit down for a good home cooked meal at Murphy’s West End Restaurant

At Murphy’s, you’ll see staff members climb trees to pick ackee (Jamaica’s national fruit) and prepare it in a dish right in front of you. Murphy’s is a family-owned restaurant which serves fresh, homemade, authentic and affordable dishes.

Their jerk is cooked in a drum grill and is simply amazing, but they’ll never divulge their secret recipe, so diners must savour it on the property. Be sure to make a reservation or get there early because space fills up fast.

4. Take a ride on a floating tiki bar boat called Tiki Pon Da Sea

In the heart of Seven Mile Beach sits an eco-resort by the name of Bourbon Beach which has some of the best outdoor live reggae parties. Not only is there a great crowd of people there, but there’s also outdoor bonfires, live music, and people dancing barefoot in the sand.

For some much-needed beach bliss, escape to Negril and enjoy all the best the island has to offer.
